You might be inserting the disk the wrong way,and im not kidding, there are two sides on the game disk, insert it again and see what happens.

Probably putting the disk in wrong way. The picture has to be facing right (when the Wii is vertical).

I'd been getting this problem too.

I went with the tried and true Nintendo method of "blow on it" and it worked a few times, but probably not recommended for optical lasers, so don't do that.

I finally solved the problem by putting my Wii on its side. I haven't had any problems since. Try it and see if it works.

u could be insering it in the wrong way or u could be that ur wii is to hot. I had the same prob and i called them and they said whts wrong? i said every time i insert a disk it says cannot read. They said is it dirty or scratched and i said no. I said the wiis rele hott from sittin on top of my tv(only played for 20 min) they said wait a half hour then try again. i did and its worked ever since so if its on top of ur tv maybe its gettin to hott.

Do you have this problem with all your games, or just some? I know some of the early Wii's have a problem reading dual layered disks.

One problem that does arise (silly manufacturers) is that the drive can sometimes pull in dust, give the disc a wipe it might help.
