Personally, for starters I want all characters de-cloned entirely. After that, they need to balance the existing characters, weakening those like Metaknight. Then, I don't want any characters added whose series is already represented. And no unnecessary third-party characters, just keep to cla$$c ones like pac/mega/bomber-man. I'm not going to dig up my old list though because it would be far to long. But most importently is not who is added, but who is kept. And not the characters, the guy who makes the games. Masahiro Sakurai is the genius behind all three games, and if he left the series would fall into ruin.

I would love Melee styled gameplay with a lagless online. That's really all I want. They could just rerelease Melee with an added online mode and I would buy it right away.

Axe all non nintendo characters, the point of the game was to have all ur fav nintendo characters duke it out, but snake and sonic?? thats not cool guys. they dont have that nintendo feel to them. they dont have that unique feeling(well sonic does but he is just not very cool at all for this game) give every character at least one or two 3rd party characters, so i can have those epic staged battles, like wolf vs fox on corneria. and make online playable, dear God, make it playable. and bring back some of the N64 stages, to satisfy our nostalgia. and finally, BRING BACK ROY!

u make it sound like Ness is no good. Ness is one of those characters u have to learn to be good with, like jigglypuff and olimar. he has hidden potential, and he woops some butt.

I wouldn't buy the next ssb game if they added most of the characters you guys listed. Oh, I know! Lets add the blue marble from Marble Madness! He is such a classic! Of course you can't change his costume/color otherwise he wouldn't be called the Blue Marble :|

You are going to be very disappointed, my friend.

Giygas, Pokey and Skull Kid would be in the roster if I had my way but those choices are still pretty conservative compared to some of the ones you've made. Master Chief? Never gonna happen.

I think the characters that exist are pretty well-balanced already (at least by comparison to the previous two iterations of the game). As for the Shadow the Hedgehog debate, I think anyone who's played Sonic Battle on the GBA realizes that he doesn't HAVE to be a clone of Sonic, and furthermore I think that Brawl proved that the developers are not in the mood to make "clones" in the Melee sense of the word. I think Shadow has some potential, because frankly, the series could use some more villain/anti-hero types for story mode purposes. But, of course, if new developers are brought in, anything's possible.

My biggest thing I'd like is an expanded Stage Builder mode. I really enjoy the one in Brawl, but only having three themes to work with is a bit limiting. That being said, I'd add in:

Megaman (and maybe a side character or two from the series)

Shadow the Hedgehog

Isaac (or comparable character from the upcoming Golden Sun DS game)

we have more ssbb threads than anything in these forums. i am still content on playing the current ssbb rather than thinking about the next one. i would rather have nintendo fix the online issues with the current game and i would be content. oh yeah, and my favorite character is samus and my best character is marth. my worst character is jigglypuff. that should sum up the next three threads people put out regarding this game. you guys have a safe and great holiday weekend.

Smoother online gameplay. If Mario Kart Wii and The Conduit can make it lag-free (works on my connection at least), so can Smash Bros.

I just would prefer it with only Nintendo's characters. If they made a clone of Smash Brothers but with Star Wars characters, they wouldn't put in Captain Kirk and Deslok.

Hmm, I would want Megaman if Capcom allowed them to. I'd want Travis Touchdown, Ridley, Mii, Roy, and no clones.

What about using sort of a Mii maker? You can make battelfields, why not tunes?

Sort of I guess like what Spore was supposed to be. You could unlock new powers, blend things together (like the stamps.)
