Thinking about getting a 3DS

I finally decided that maybe it's time to get a 3DS but my problem is that there are tons of other things that I could get instead. I'm not going to name any of the things I could get that's not the 3DS because this isn't the forum for it but I do want to know what the benifits of the 3DS are and what are some good games that are coming for it. I know I want metal gear and RE: revelations. What are some REALLY good games that will be available for it? If you can, name some core Nintendo experiences on the console cause I haven't owned a nintendo system in a while and I do miss my zeldas and Marios. Thank you.

If you do get one I suggest you get these games:

Tales of Abyss (coming in feb)

No one knows when it will come out or when Nintendo will announce it.

I guess if it happens it happens. I'm just worried they will come out with a 3DS with a second analog stick built in but what ever. If that happens I guess I'll just buy that one too. The same thing happened with the original DS and I dealt with it. I guess it's what ever.

If anything the remake will not be "smaller" itll be like a XL with bigger 3D screen and battery. I have no idea where people get the idea 3DS is big or bulky. I assume the layered look is confusing people. 3DS is the same size as the DSi and Ive never heard anyone say that was heavy/bulky.

I really like the polish of Nintendo games, but at this point in time you might as well wait a few months and see what happens. The other thing--though it seems unlikely--could end up being a revolutionary device.

I just got one (arrived today), basically for Resident Evil Revelations. I used my DS Lite just for Professor Layton and those hidden games, my plan is do the same with 3DS, with the exception of RE Revelations.

Games like Zelda, Kid Icarus and Mario Kart aren't really my type.

Hope you really enjoy RE cus buying a Nintendo system when you dont enjoy Nintendo series seems like a huuuge waste of money imo. Personally Nintendo series is 95% of why I get Nintendo systems still. The good 3rd party games is just icing on the cake.

I currently own SNES, N64, GBA, DS Lite, Wii and now a 3DS ( I don't sell my systems/games). I had a blast with MK64 (my fav on the system), but I didn't had as much fun with MK on DS or on Wii, that's why I'm staying away from MK7 for now, maybe I'll get it when is cheaper.

Believe or not, I own those Nintendo systems above, but never played a Zelda game. On the SNES, my fav series wasn't Mario, but Donkey Kong Country, even though I really liked Super Mario World and Mario AllStar. Sure, you're probably think that I'm a weirdo, well maybe I am :P.

Games that I'm looking forward on 3DS are: RE Revelations, Luigi's Mansion 2, Professor Layton kinda games and Super Mario 3D Land (this one, when is cheaper).

TBH, if wasn't for Revelations, I wouldn't be getting a 3DS now, but I'm a huge fan of the series, specially when the series was focused on Survivor Horror and Revelations has some Survivor Horror elements.

Ok enough of that nows its now $200 in australia and their pressure to me to buy for Tales of Abyss which is released in australia and also Mario Kart 7. I've held it off for almost a 10 mounths now and im very loyal or should i say Fanboy loyal cause i've been i a fan mario since super mario 64. It now i just the need to go and buy it tommorow im still panicing if my parents find out about dsi's i have 2 xl and dsi regular sizes .

God help me im coming to be 19.

I'm in the same camp and will be purchasing a 3DS in mid-March (thank God for tax time!). If N chooses to release a streamlined version I'll just live with it or trade up and deal with the consequences.

When I purchased my first DS (the DS Lite) I bought four games with it. I may do the same thing once I visit the NWS in NY (SM3DL, MK7, Tales of the Abyss and Crush 3D).
