Nice. I thought GS score seemed sort of low. The funny thing is that a lot of people on here claim they use IGN for reviews and GS for forums, but when stuff like this happens that attitude quickly vaporizes. I'll probably rent it and see if I like the controls before I decide what version to buy.

Although on GS, all three were reviewed by the same person, which is not the case on IGN.

I all ways go to IGN for Info/Reviews, Gamespot for forums. IGN is just so much more balanced and fair imo.

That may be true about Gamespot review, but the nintendo team at IGN had also played the other version and thought this was the best one. I am sure that factored into the review.

Just read it and have to agree with everything except the certain rancor battle they mentioned. When I played that part I didn't have any of the problems they listed.

Yeah, if you are looking for a good review of the game that's the one to read.

That's what I like about IGN, when they review a game they tell you what works, what doesn't, what's flawed and lets you decide if the game is worth it, while throwing in there 2 cents.

why? even tho it beat the other 2 on ign, those scores are still not good

everyone knows that in the low 80's is the average "quality game" and below that is iffy if you purchase it

so why would that be a 1st day buy for you?

Because it's looks like Star wars episode 3 which has the same problems, yet it was on of my favorite games on PS2.

That and it is my most hyped game probably in my whole life.

They complained about everything that gamespot complained about but they just really loved the controls.. though it seems that the game is a sloppy port of sorts, glitches and bug everywhere.

If I'm to get this game, I'm getting for the wii version. I think I'm going to rent it, beat it for its 8 hours or so of single player mode, and never look back at it again.

in my opinion a 7/7.5 is a decent game. Maybe not always worth buying but definately a rent and whether or not you buy really depends on personal preference. 8-8.9 are great games pretty much everyone would enjoy. 9-9.9 are awesome games everyone should get. 10 is OOT

Yeah if Wii owners were restricted to only 8's and up we'd be screwed up the butt. And same for 360 and PS3 except to a lesser extent. But most 7.0 games are liked by at least some people.

Ya know I read both IGN reviews and while the breakdown and the actual reviews make sense the final scores look like they were flipped. TFU on Wii read like a 6.8 or 7.0 tops while the 360/PS3 version had more positives to say about it.

And ironically, it seems like that version has what matters to me more, a better told story. But to each his own. Enjoy whatever version you decide on.

The fact that it beat the other two versions on IGN just proves that gaming is all about gameplay, not graphics.

This may sound insane but the favouring toward the Wii may be due to the feel of the games. I have seen vids of Vader on Kasshyk from both versions, Krome's versions like the original trilogy and Lucasarts like the prequal trilogy.

Ganados actually has a pretty compelling point. If "better" visual technology meant better story-telling, then the prequel trilogy would beat the original tril. hands down, but that is far from the case. I do think that Wii games suffer unduly from people's sense that they lack polish, just because they're wii-level games. BUT! this game is really a PS2 game with Wii controls, which irritates me. I have a PS2, but at this point I would almost rather it went out of style, and the wii started getting games actually designed for it.

You could only use that example if the screenplays for the prequels were equal to those for the originals, but they are not. Look at the remastered versions of the original trilogy for a better comparison (ignoring the small annoying changes that Lucas made). The updated versions are a superior experience because of the enhanced visuals and sounds.

That's a fair analysis presto. But I don't really agree. I think that story-telling and visual tech are pretty much independent of one another. I don't think the remastered versions are significantly better, from a story-telling perspective, than the non-remastered versions. They just look slightly better (note: I own the remastered versions). In practice, I think that focusing too much on visuals can detract from story telling, simply because it distracts the developers (or directors, hee hee). If you need some bigger proof that a good story doesn't need any technology at all, just look at the Odyssey. But of course visuals are nice and can help capture the audience's attention. What do you think?
