When it comes to controllers, I say first-party.

EDIT: I was totally being optimistic and was unknown of the look of this device and I have to say it looks like crap...

OK!

It's nice to see that one company allows the visually handicapped full opportunity as a designer. Most companies wouldn't let a seeing eye dog have the final say on a product but there's good ol' Nyko!

Hey!

It allows wireless communication with future Nyko products. And it will be a whopping FIVE dollars less than the Nintendo remote.

How can you beat that?!

Edit: Did I really say before it'd be more?

That wouldn't help Nyko AT all. lol

I don't like the NYKO Wii mote, however....

Has anyone played with a NYKO WING? It looks like it might be a promising alternative to a classic controller.

It looks nicer...doesn't have to be corded to the wiimote, has a better grip.

I'm debating buying one. Lord knows I can't play Donkey Kong Country to my best ability with a mere Wavebird.

thats one ugly controller but the charge packs nyko makes are much better then regular batteries and cheaper too

I'm still extremely reluctant. I have never had a good experience with Nyko products. And I have no problem with the feel of the official controller.

Nyko calls that a wand? Looks more like a blunt weapon to me. I find the normal design of the Wiimote very comfortable, give it's with the right game. It feels perfectly smooth in stuff like Super Mario Galaxy, No More Heroes, and Metroid Prime 3. Don't really see where Nyko (or most third-party companies) are going with controllers like this. I'd assume they'll be priced much cheaper, but I can't imagine the aesthetic would turn anyone on looking at it on a store shelf.

I feel like they tried to make it as different as they could, while still keeping the overall design of the wiimote. The result is ugly square buttons and an ugly d-pad.

most of nykos products have been better than nintendo's products or things that nintendo should have made own their own but didnt. and yes the wand is ugly but since none of u have actually used it i would withhold judgment until release

the only good Nyko Wii product for the Wii that I've used would be the Perfect Shot. when it comes to the actual controllers, though, first-party is always the way to go. other than the A button being red (and hopefully the B button), the Wand looks unappealing IMO

even though hideous by design....I bet that actually isn't that bad as long as they used very very similiar internals. The one thing I can't stand about the buttons on the Wiimote ( + home - and 1,2) is they are rather hard to reach sometimes when active gaming is going on, and I have rather long fingers. They aren't needed for most games, but they are still a pain sometimes. Nyko's version has bigger buttons which would most likely be easier to use. I would lay money on it being compareable.

I was wondering when a third party controller would come out for the Wii. I wonder what made them think that the Dpad, buttons, and design needed to be third world ugly? I think I should start a list of things that I will never buy, like this thing.
