There is no reason to get rid of the GBA slot. It doesn't get in the way and it offers backwards compatibility of a huge library filed with wonderful titles. It also allows the use of other accessories, some legal, some illegal. The fact that GBA games protrude from the bottom of the slim is nasty, and that could be fixed.
The DS does not need an analog stick. Two games would take advantage of that? Generally the touch screen is the alternative to an analog stick.
Memory sticks of some sort to allow demos and games to be downloaded and kept rather than needing to go all the way to the store just to stand there and play it for 5 minutes before leaving and losing the demo. The functionality of the DS would go WAY up if only you could save things within the handheld itself kinda like certain accessories allow.
