ok, i have been leaving my wii on the floor horizontly for some time(playing metroid prime). the floor is carpet and i just recently learned that its not good for the system to be on that kind of surface for a long time because the system might overheat or something(i dont know if this is true). i noticed the wii was pretty warm so i put it back on vertical position. now unless i unplug the wii it is always mildy warm. does yours do that? or is it because i left that it in that position for a long time? im wondering if this is just me or all wiis are warm when on standby.

putting any mechanical device that needs to vent on a carpet is bad. I have my Wii on a wooden table and that seems to work fine for me. It just needs to vent better.

It's always going to be warm, it's an electrical device that's plugged in.

s long as it's not always hot, then you have nothing to worry about. If you have Wii24connect on then thats the reason that its warm be its still sort of on all the time.
