I sure hope not. There's been talk about a wiimake of Donkey Konga, but no new games seem to be in development.TheSmitto
not donkey konga, donkey kong jungle beat, completley different game
Its been so long since I've played or even heard about him. Anyone have the inside scoop of why there isn't any more Donkey Kong games?Furi-Kun
Fictional characters cannot die, they never lived...
but seriously, I think its pretty much over for donkey kong...sad.
That depends on whether you call those real games or not.GC had Donkey Kong Jungle Beat and they are remaking it for Wii.
Also, for the Wii Donkey Kong had Donkey Kong Barrel Blast (WII). that came out 1 year and 1 month ago.
So, no Donkey Kong isn't dead.

You have a point about Jungle Beat, but Barrel Blast could be used as evidence of this alleged death.GC had Donkey Kong Jungle Beat and they are remaking it for Wii.

Donkey platfomers are dead. Donkey Kong as in the character himself isn't dead.

Exactly. DK 64, the DK Countrys and all those other good DK games are long gone. And we will never see good games like those again. Maybe, but what are the chances of that happening?
I dont understand this- Nintendo is using all the characters is used from its successful games on the SNES yet not using DK???
Why not- if they are recreating MarioKart and SMG and SmashBros and everything then why cant they recreate DK? The DK franchise on SNES was probably my fav all-time franchise and I honestly think that the core gameplay would still be awesome this gen.

I absolutely love the DK Countrys and DK 64, I wish they would make one more.

the DKC games and DK64 were all developed by rare. Microsoft now owns rare, so nintendo doesnt have a dev who can make a DK platformer on par with what rare did.

Me too! Thier is at least a chance of a DKC DS since Microsoft doesn't have a handheld... If such a game is announced I will probably die of anticipation![QUOTE="mhsdrake"]I dont understand this- Nintendo is using all the characters is used from its successful games on the SNES yet not using DK???

Hope not, but what can we expect from Nintendo that is not taking care about their most important games......
R.I.P DK, he has survived only in games like smash and mario kart, also in Mario Party.
Let's wait maybe in the future we will have a new fantastic game, like donkey kong country for example......

One of the things that I think is keeping DK platformers games out of the shelves is that the history needs to be refreshed, in all of the DKC and DK 64, King K.Rool robbed something and/or someone and it was your duty to get them back. After a few games that argument may have grow boring to many gamers and that made Nintendo to think in a new history as well as a new publisher.
Or they might actually let him die
Well, DK platformers are dead...DK himself still lives and we will most certainly see him in later games...
DK Jungle Beat is getting remade and it is a Platformer. Hopefully EAD Tokyo will make a new DK Platformer they made the last one.Well, DK platformers are dead...DK himself still lives and we will most certainly see him in later games...

There hasn't been a great DK game since DK 64, hopefully somebody can get him back on track.TheColbert
Last time I checked,Jungle Beat was a great game.

I just don't like the whole bongo set up. I want another great 3-D adventure game.
But I guess it did get good reviews...
That's like saying the Earthbound series is alive in the US and Europe.*runs to my wii* *checks the Brawl Charater Selection Screen*
nope, he's still alive.

But I'm more worried about Donkey Kong Jr. The last time I seen him was on Mario Kart for the SNES. I need a video game character that actually teaches me something!
Jakendo
DK jr. is the donkey kong we know now. the DK from the originals (mario vs. DK) is cranky kong
