location of the volume button... why would they put it there where you can easily slide it by mistake... not only that but why make it slidable? they should of kept the dsi type of raising and lowering the volume... How many times do i have to pause a game to adjust the volume because i kept accidently raising it in the heat of gaming.

I've never had any trouble with the volume slider.

I think most people will say the worst thing about the 3DS is the battery.

Yeah, the worst thing about the 3DS is the battery. I almost didn't buy the system because of that.

Agreed, it should be buttons like the DSi. Was it really that much cheaper to go back to a slider? They're awful. And the stylus is in the wrong spot. The 3D effect also has an insanely narrow field of view. Battery life is insanely short. And the finish should have been an even matte like the DSi, not the bizarre four colour job they went with. The whole thing looks like it was assembled out of random pieces someone found in a dumpster. The circle slider is the first actually usable portable analog stick I've ever seen, though, so props for that.

What are you 3? use your fingers.

Some people, like myself, prefer using the stylus instead of our fingers. I've adapted to holding the stylus while playing any DS/3DS game.

I say the worst thing about the 3DS is the stylus placement, battery life, and how the circle pad and bottom screen touches the top screen (in order from least to greatest annoyance). :x

Volume button? Really? Not only is that a stupid complaint but it isnt even the worst thing about the 3DS. The location of the Stylus. That's the worst thing about the 3DS. I'm so used to it being on the side like my DS lite only for me to remember it's located on the top. And the battery life. I have no problem with the battery life. It doesnt drain as quick as people are claiming.

I prefer the slider as it's easier to silence the system if you have to. I as most people do are annoyed that the circle pad and bottom screen touch the top when closed and smudge it, along with the battery life. Those are the real complaints. Also of course the stylus placement is a bit annoying.

problem with the 3ds is you have to keep it steady for the 3d effect and using the stylus messes it up a bit... in steel diver i recommend fingers only.

I've never had an issue with the volume slider.

I'd say the battery is the worst thing. Also, I don't like the location of the stylus, and I don't like how slippery the back is. Other than stylus location, the other two problems can be remedied through accessories though.

That is the worst thing you think everyone will agree on? I didn't even see it as a problem!

Maybe lines on the screen, easy smudge marks, or hardware not being very reliable (compared to other Nintendo products).

the volume switch is ok, but the battery and place of stylus is terrible. i hope that atleast, we could buy another battery and change it when we want it. i think that in the next version of DS stylus will be back in the sweet spot and the battery will be AGAIN up to 19 h. :)

The fact that the circle pad touches the top part of the 3DS when closed, same with the frame of the lower screen and this really bothers me for some reason: the use of the 24 hour clock, I absolutely hate it.

For me, the worst thing is the battery life and the 3D.

I get maybe three hours before having to recharge. The 3D looks great as long as you can hold the 3DS perfectly ALL the time, but it is really not practical during game play. These two things really need to be addressed with the next revision of 3DS.

i agree with the location of the stylus. in the dsi, I could just pull it out on a whim. ON the 3ds, i have to look for it and awkardly take it out while having to pause my game.

^ This. Volume placement is fine, battery is okay, stylus placement ubersucks, small buttons are slightly annoying, and as always, Nintendo is dead-set against giving us a full sized D-pad for some reason. That and the sweet spot, on some games...

I have not had issues with the battery life, and I keep the brightness at 4.

Same here, although I keep it on 3 and have power-saving mode on so it's even dimmer. I also don't turn on the wireless connection unless I need to connect to the internet.

Animal Crossing online, web browser, scribblenauts, maybe extensively isn't the best word, but using for fingers for those things is not going to work.

I tried power saving mode and just couldn't handle it - it almost looks like the colour temperature of the screen changes, everything becomes more washed out. I'm really curious what that mode actually does because the results are bizarre.

When I tried it, and I didn't try it for long, but when I did it just basically looked like the screen got a little darker. So basically if I had level 5 brightness, the brightness in power save mode would be 4.5.

I don't know why they didn't put the stylus on the side like the DS Lite. I hate where it is. The muffin shape, the top looks bigger than the bottom. Let's see what else, the battery life is not great. It's been good with Oot but I've drained it once playing Mercernaries. The browser is pretty bad, almost, but not as bad as the PSP-3000. I look at the 3DS and think, "Really guys, you couldn't of made this closer and light in design like the DS Lite and the DSi?"

I think the placement of the power button is far worse. There's nothing quite as frustratiing as hitting that by accident and losing all of your progress.

Price is the worst problem for me. Just not worth $250. Actually, that and how long it takes Nintendo to drop the prices on their games is the only problems I have with the 3DS.

I would agree actually. I've never hit it by accident, but it does seem to be in an awkward place. I'll echo everyone else and say the stylus feels really wrong at the top. I can''t access it easily at all and don't like having it in my hand. It gets in the way, or I put it down and then lose it!
