I was looking online today at Amazon.com and saw that DS games are considerably cheaper in the USA than the UK. Seems like most DS games are $40 - which is about £20 in UK money. Most DS games here are £24.99 or £29.99 ($50-60 USA). I appreciate that the UK is a smaller market and so on, but it does seem that we are getting a poor deal in relation to some other countries I've often seem games reviewed that say they're budget releases (typically £19.99 in UK - $40 USA) but when they come over here they're full price.

So, how much do games cost in your country and do you think it's good value?

I live in Greece and the majority of Ds games cost 35-40 Euro...

I think that catridges should be cheaper, as UMDs have the same cost...

Yeah, in the UK DS games are usually £20-40 which is quite a lot for a game, though luckily console games are usually a similar price (at least near me).

I think the European Union is considered one big market by the video-game industry, therefor the games should be cheaper! There are of course some idiosyncrasies like manual translations etc.

Canadian dollar wise..about the same price as the United States. Our dollar has weakened..(It's at like 96cents vs. the us dollar?). I think it has to do with supply and demand... the reason why your ds games cost so much in different regions. But..then again shipping should be cheaper to regions closer to Japan. (That is if they manufacture them there.) And regions in europe should at least get a lower cost since the price to ship to the North america vs europe seems the same, don'tcha think? O_o

In Mexico, DS games cost from 300(really bad games) to 600(good and not so good games) pesos, which are from 30 to 60 dollars.

So, I mainly buy most of my games on the U.S.

The US Dollar has weakened more, at one time (A few years ago, maybe 6) one american dollars was worth two canadian dollar.

And on topic, most 3rd party games are $30, 1st party games are $35, and SE games (and "My Weight Coach") are $40.

Yeah, well from what the news has been telling me, both of our economies have been going through a pretty bad economic time right now. But right now I think it's .96:1 (Canadian dollar to US dollar respectively).

Does anyone know how much the games cost in Japan?

On Play-asia.com you can import games from Japan. All the prices are listed in American dollars. I'm on the site now and it appears that DS games there are anywhere from 30 to 60 dollars. Wow!! YOU CAN PREORDER POKEMON PLATINUM! For those of you interested in buying it (it's in Japanese) it's 48.90 and will ship on September 13.

U$70~75 (R$110~120) for good games and U$40~50 (R$65~80) for bad games and they have no Portuguese options :( That's why I generally buy them from US.

Sorry for my English, my primary language is Portuguese.

I'm from Antarctica and games here are really hard to find. But when you do, they're about $100-$1,000 U.S. dollars, depending on the game.

Antartica? As in South of the globe, home of the penguins and polar bears and thousands of miles of snow Antartica?

I'm living at the Emirates for almost 4 years now ( I'm not a local there) and ds games cost at around 30 to 50 dollars, depending on where you buy it. Virgin sells ds games here at around 40 to 60 or so dollars, depending on the game.
