Just be aware that since your movement is multiplied by a certain factor the farther you get away from the TV it could be a little hard to be completely accurate without a little practice with the pointer.
Supposedly bluetooth enabled devices work up to 30 feet away from each other, so the titles that rely on motion controls like Sonic, SSX, and Super Paper Mario should play fine.
I am not sure how well the sensor bar will pick up the Wii Remote's pointer if there is anything in the way of the 18 feet.
