Ok, you may as well say that I nearly wet myself from hearing/reading this. In the new Harvest Moon DS - Cute, not only can you marry men, but women as well, meaning something odd there, what are your thoughts.

Not quite. the Special Event that you refer to is when one of your rivals for a certain marriage cantidate marries said cantidate instead of you.
"Out of the eleven bachelors, five of them have potential love interests that lie outside the player:
For each pair, the player can trigger four rival love events. A week after the fourth and final event is witnessed, the rival couple will marry. These events become available on a yearly basis. For example, the first (black heart) event can always be triggered, while the second (blue heart) can only be unlocked after the player reaches their second year in the game."
It's true, you can actually "marry" the opposite sex in Harvest Moon Cute, but they don't actually call it marrying, in the game. They say that you become best friends with one of the local girls and then they move in with you. You can even have a baby, except, no body get's pregnant. Just randomly one night, your "best friend" will tell you that a baby came last night. Anyways, all the info is here:
