Can two GBA games be played like the link cable/wireless connection via DS?

Like for example if I wanted to face someone in Pokemon Firered and the other poerson had another Pokemon title and we played via DS.

not that the DS can use the adaptor or cable, since it already has wi-fi.

I would appreciate a definite answer cause I plan on buying a few GBA games and it would all be in vain if it were so.

Nintendo DS: The Nintendo DS uses wireless technology to play DS Game Cards in multiplayer mode. While the Nintendo DS can play Game Boy Advance games in single player mode, the DS does not have a port or other circuitry for a link cable, thus it is not possible to play Game Boy Advance games in simultaneous multiplayer mode on the DS.Nintendo

^ I just got that from the Nintendo site, and basically it says that multiplayer GBA games not only don't work, but there's also no link cable for the Nintendo DS either.  You'd have to already own/purchase a Gameboy Advance to use a multiplayer option because it won't work on DS.

Sorry.  I didn't actually know that before I looked it up and I'm not happy about it either.  But I'm sure if you look around, you'll find similar DS games you like.  There's some pretty good stuff with WiFi and wireless connection.

No, you can't. Which is bad, cause I'd like to play some Four Swords with my buddy again, but I'm too lazy to take out my GBA and that cable thingy..
