if u have friends with ds's then mario kart or tetris...dam fun multiplayerÂ
oky im not so sure about pokemon because well i think pokemon is kind fo stupid(no offense pokemon lovers) DO you have to like pokemon to like it and, what a game that takes agood advantage of the touch screenI would say pokemon, it is soo good :)But if you're looking for something different, go with Eliet Beat Agents. The music may be some what crap, but it's a really good rhythum game.

To answer your question: no, you do not need to be a Poke-fanatic in order to injoy this game. I have never played a Pokemon game in my life before I got the DS version, and I absolutely hate the TV show, but I love this game. It's a fun rpg-like game with lots of free roaming and wild pokemon to catch and train.
Hope that helps.
Oh, and Elite Beat Agents is probably your best bet for a touch screen game. The whole game uses the touch screen, you never use a,b,x,y, etc. at all.
