If I put all my pokemon in my bank, and then start a new game... does that mean I can go through X/Y again, fresh, but not lose my pokemon?

I've always wanted a new game + for pokemon. I'm wondering if this will make it possible.

My definition of New Game + in this case: Being able to go through the game again while keeping my pokemon when I delete my data.

I certainly hope so, but we won't know until it's finally released or if one of the few Japanese people who can still use it can answer our question.

Wait what?

How does getting upgraded Pokemon make it a new game +?

People have been doing that since the start of the franchise

He's using the term "new game +" loosely. He just wants to start a new game without losing all of his pokemon or having to get an additional handheld to trade and trade back.

You nailed it. That's exactly what I want.

I think I read somewhere (though darn it, I don't remember where atm), that you could start using Pokémon Bank as soon as you get your pokedex in the game.

Actually, I think I read it on the official website for Pokémon Bank. Check it out, and check out the FAQ there or whatever.

oh yeah, I did want to remind the OP... If you're thinking of transferring all of your high-level pokemon, they probably won't obey you until you get the appropriate gym badges in-game. Also, I'm not sure if you'd be recognized as the original trainer anymore if you transferred pokemon from Bank, if that matters.

You hardly need a New Game + mode when trading is available from the offset and the XP share makes the game ridiculously easy.

well the way i'd use it, is i'd store all my pokemon in the bank, then restart the game, play it all over again from start to finish, and only then getting those pokemon back.

but i'd much rather be able to start a second file >.>

My question is about items because some of them are very valuable too. I heard you cannot transfer items to bank. Can anyone verify this?

@Shmiity: The Pokemon Bank website states that you can send your pokemon to a new game, even if the worst were to somehow happen and you lost your copy of X or Y.

@Soulreavercross: According to the PokeBank FAQ, that is true. :\
