What do you think of the rubber layer you can put on Wiimotes? Do you use it?

For some reason, I find it kind of uncomfortable.

yes I use it... to avoid GTD's game transmitted diseases.

No seriously, my hands sweat like a freak so it keeps it from collecting nasty gunk, plus it's a cushion if I drop the remote or whack it against something.

Also, I hate it, but I'm one of those people who has to keep my gaming stuff in perfect condition. One tiny scratch or ding, even if invisible will annoy the heck out of me.

No, because I got one of the launch Wiis, and I have to like... order them. I know they're free, but when I used them at my friend's house who just got a Wii, I found them... kinda strange-feeling. I like the feel of a bare wii-mote on my hands...

No, that thing's just a waste. Even still, I have the nyko rechargeable batteries (almost necessary for wii) and they come with grips on the battery case.

Yes. It's comfortable, cushions the Wiimote, and you don't have to worry if the Wiimote ever falls.

-Sigil-

I think it still is on their website. I didn't order one of the replacement wrist straps until a year and two months after they made that offer. Just look at the website.

I did, but when I got the plastic accessories(Zapper and Wheel), I stopped using it since it was a pain to just put it back on there when I was probably going to stick the Wiimote back in one of the shells.

Yes I always have it on. I like the way it looks, the way it feels, and I can relax when someone else is playing Wii because the Wii Remote is being protected and so are the people around it.

Yea, ordered them as soon as i could, they work really well. I also smacked the floor while bowling on my gaming rocker so the extra cushion really does come in handy.

I use it all the time. Not for playing video games, though.

My baby daughter is teething and I've found that she really enjoys chewing on the rubber protector thing if it's on a Wiimote.

Kinda wierd, I know, but it makes her happy. I usually take the rubber thing off to play games.

I don't use mine for gaming. I put them on when I'm transporting my Wii (like from home to college), but I tried using them while I play and they just feel... weird. I guess I'm used to the Wii remote by itself since I've had it since launch, but I just couldn't get used to playing with the jacket.

Yep, I use it. My Wiimote has fallen down a bunch of times, so at least the cover is protecting it.

I wonder if Nintendo's next console's controllers will be like those nerf controllers instead of being in a plastic case. Like if the wii2 came with squeeshy wiimotes.

I like the jacket. It is great because it gives protection and better grip. My hand also sweats alot, so it keeps the remote clean.

I use it.

As far as ergonomics go, I've always felt that the Wiimote had a poor design, unlike the nunchuk. For me, the cover makes it a lot more comfortable, and less sweaty too.

When they first came out I ordered one from Nintendo.

A week later I bought another controller and realized I had 3 controllers now so I ordered 2 more.

Still haven't got them.

Ya I use it, not really for the safety but I much prefer the comfort of it. It did take a little while to get used to it though, but once I did it was much better.

No, though i used to, but now i just find it annoying and since I play Mario Kart Wii with the Wii Remote + Wii Wheel, it gets annoying having to take of the Wii Jacket every time I want to play. But it is useful and help keep the Wii Remotes clean when people sweat when they play and also so the Remote doesn't get scratched or broken

I use it... it's comfortable and easier to play games when using it sideways. Gives extra grip. If the Wii remote drops (without) then it's likely going to break. But if it has the protectors... then you shouldn't worry.

I have never used them. Like many people have mentioned, I have the Nyko Charging Station, so I can't charge with the protector on. Also, the two games I play most are Brawl and Mario Kart. I use the Wiimote sideways in Brawl, and the protector makes my hand not able to reach everything as comfortably (I have tiny hands) and in Mario Kart Wii, you have to take the protector off to use the wheel. I don't like the sleeve at all.

i use it but not really only for protection, i think it is very comfortable how it conforms to my hand. i just bought a new wiimote a couple weeks ago and now i wished i had filled out the thing from nintendo for my first two wiimotes.
