I'm just wondering why people buy these old games anways? If you ask me it doesnt look worth the money. What do you think of th VC?

I think it's great, so many games I never got to play that i wanted to, and the prices are low so if you get want you want it certainly is no waste of money.zenszulu
I don't know about the prices being low... Asking $8 for SNES games is kind of a lot. I'll pay it for really good games, but I think that most SNES games aren't worth $8.
It depends, probably 6 - 17 years old. And thier are some very stellar old games out thier. You make it sound like its a bad thing that they are old. I can understand if you are saying that because you have already played alot of them, but if your like me and have missed out on alot of those games, thier are some amazing gaming experiences out thier. Last month I played : A Link to the Past, Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario World and Kirbys Adventure, all for the first time.hmmmm....now i understand! So these game are how old?

They're pricy, but worth it for a few reasons
1. Reliving great games in a classic TV/controller setup. (Yes, I know it's possible on a PC, but many people don't have gamepads.)
2. Multiplayer is much easier than on a PC, although the lack of online multiplayer is irritating. It wouldn't ruin the games at all, they'd still be the same - only instead of playing with people in the same room, you could also play with people around the world.
Personally I'm pretty particular about titles I buy on the VC, but today I bought Star Fox 64 and I'm quite happy with it. I'm waiting for more N64 and Genesis classics since N64 needs an analog controller and I never owned a Genesis.Â
People buy these games because they are great games, well the ones the buy, I'm not saying all the VC games are great. Personally, I love the VC, I probably play the classics more than the new games to be honest.hammer_of_thor_I agree with every word of this post.
[QUOTE="rond5566"]I did until I played XBLAsoulfood4Ugh...i dont like XBLA, and dont find it better than VC at all... Thier arn't that many good games on X-Box live arcade, yet.

Good man, I must agree with every word of your post then ha.
I'm not impressed so far... the game selection has been pisspoor. Where's all the A-list Nintendo titles? What about all the 16-bit blockbusters that came from 3rd parties over the years? The choice titles are trickling in slowly, and not all of them even translate flawlessly.lol do you know why nintendo made the VC Channel? To make money. Thats what businesses do. They won't release all their A list games at once, because then most people will only buy a couple, but if they release them very slowly, people will eat up each and every one. The games available on VC are attractive enough, what else do they need to do? I usually use my pc's virtual console, but there are such games that I would love to own and play on my HDTV in all its uncompressed high-res glory (namely DKC and starfox 64). Nintendo's got a over 20 years worth of gaming behind them, theres nothing wrong with making a quick buck off them, and if you don't like VC, just keep doing your thing.
On top of all that, you've got the steep pay scale. The games themselves are quite pricey for a simple game download, and add that in to having to buy Wii Points in chunks, its very easy to waste money or be left with unused points. Considering the MUCH less expensive and MUCH more robust options out there (albeit most are less than legal), Nintendo does not seem to be trying hard enough to make VC attractive. Seems to me like a way to rake in a quick buck against those who are too good-natured or too technology-impaired to acquire these games via emulation. ignoman
Personally, I love the VC. I have games like mario 64 and zelda 64 and mario world, and contra 3 and f-zero, all still fun to play, and can't find them anywhere else (except illegally online)... it's worth it, but don't buy what you don'lt like. The only problem is they need a demo channel, cause there are games on the VC I have never heard of...
