Excuse me  I ment TRADER, as in someone who replaces your game for credit or $$ when your done with them.

I find myself torn. On one hand I'm tempted to keep them for the sake of having a "collection", but on the other I rationalize that I'd probally never play it again since I had beaten it. I have actually repurchased a game over a year latter to replay it. What do you do? Game$top, ebay, swap with friends, or keep until they collect dust?

I generally keep my games after I'ved played them. I might sell them eventually, but only after a number of years.

For the most part I never trade in or sell my games, I have traded in games to get a new game before, but I don't think I'll ever do that again.

Keep. I'm the kind of person who can randomly go back and play my older games, so I get my money's worth by keeping them.

I also don't like trading in because it hurts the industry and will help drive prices up.

I like to swap with friends when I'm done with a game. That way it's still around if I want to pick it up again later. Otherwise, I hang on to all of my games.

i always keep all my old games. ever since i was like 3, my parents have been buying me videogames, and i still have every single one (except tetris for the gameboy cause i think i might have lost it). just check out my profile at all the games in my collection. every game there i have in my physical possession. i dont like trading games back in because they barely give you anything for it. if i was the kind of person to do that, i think i would either get one of those monthly gaming passes from blockbuster, or just buy everything used.

I sell them if they weren't super great and I've beaten them. Sometimes I'll trade them to get trade in deals like trade in 8 games get a free psp with 2 games. Sorry I like Nintendo and some of sony's systems (PS3 SUX)

I would love to keep all my games, but i feel like im wasting money on stuff i won't play anymore. Of course online games such as halo 3 and COD 4 remain on the shelves until there aren't any more people playing, but a lot of the single player stuff, unless it be like a casual arcade game that i pick up, i usually just sell back soon after i beat it or swap out with friends to keep from having to buy so much

You get better deals by selling or trading games to other people, rather than trading them to a place like GameStop.

It all depends on the games for me. Like, Assassins Creed DS or Lego Star Wars for instance. I generally trade those in two days after I finish it. On the other hand, games like Phoenix Wright, Advance Wars, or Trauma Center, I keep forever.

I hope I'm never in the situation where I need to sell or trade my games to aquire new ones.

Each one of my games are special mainly because of the people that get me them, I couldn't give that away.

I don't sell or trade my games..

I treasure them, hoping that someday my children could still play with them and say;

"I wish I lived in the 90's.. I love you Dad, you are the best Dad in the world.."

I actually have my Dad's Atari 2600 with me.. including its game paks stored in ziplock bags.. its not working though..

Seeing as I've only had a DS for awhile, I've only traded a few games. It wasn't a huge lost, considering most were pretty new and grabbed some good trade-in credit. I try and research the games before they come out, like many people, so I know my purchase was worth it. Although, you can't always be right. (aka. lots of sugar coded crap we're made to believe are games nowadays)

I keep my games. They are precious to me. The only way I would part with a game is by giving it to a family member, such as my brother.

I always trade games in. Sure, there's some games I keep but most I trade in.

Last year I bought about 12 Xbox 360 games and at the end of the year I owned maybe 4.
On the DS I have two games and plan on trading both of them in for Animal Crossing.

Well, if you don't play it anymore, you should sell it. I don't see why you should keep your video games on the shelf while others can enjoy them, and you could get money for them. Then you can buy new games.

After I sold Pokemon Pearl, I heard about Pokemon Farm, and I regretted selling it. But I found a few games that I wouldn't play again, and sold them to get Diamond. I still had my game and it was basically free with money left over.

I still have every single game that I got as a gift or bought with my own money. I may not play MIG 29 Soviet Fighter on the NES anymore but its still there and it works perfectly.

Sometimes. If a new game comes out that I want, and I dont want to spend money, I will trade in like 3 really, really bad games that I played once. Otherwise not really.

I buy only used games because I don't really see how you can damage a DS card so I usually get my 7 day money back guarantee until I find game that I like, so in a way, yeah I guess I trade games in, but I get full money back so I don't know.

Wow, thanks for all the input! :D

I have a few jewels in my collection like my limited edition gold Zelda cart or my banna yellow dk & of course all the limited newer stuff like oblivion, halo, & gears. I think that an interesting point was made about driving the cost of the industry up, I never thought of that. I wouldn't mind seeing some research on that matter.

Great responses everyone thanks!

I agree, I always try to buy used. That's what I did with CoD4 for the ds, good game but not worth spending $25 on without online support. I'm waiting for Iron man to show up used next.

I have kind of a weird system. If I don't like a game I naturally just trade it in for something better. But if I enjoy a game I keep it in my collection until the end of it's generation, then sell the console, the games, and everything else to get money for the new system. Ex: I had a GBA with some gems like Golden Sun, Mario & Luigi, etc. then I traded all that in when the DS came out. So far I've only traded games in to like a Gamespot, but I'm interested in trying the Ebay method and seeing what I can get.

I always keep my games, doesn't matter if I beat them or not. The only ones I sell are the ones that are horrible (like the Lord Of The Rings one for Game Cube).I keep the Anime ones always, they are just too artistic to be sold.
