What Nintendo franchise do you like the least, and give an explanation of why.

For me it's zelda, particularly the 3d versions. I realized this when playing the remakes of ocarina of time 3d and wind waker hd. I first played the originals when they were initially released and i flew through them. I was a wee little baby at that time. When i tried to play the remakes, I made it about 60% through wind waker hd and 15% through ocarina of time 3d. I like finishing games and i found these to be too tedious and they made my head hurt more than actually having fun playing them. Link and the world around him are like an empty vessel for my imagination to take hold of and make special, my adult imagination can't do anything. The puzzles and figuring out what to do was a lot easier in my childhood. Maybe I'm stoopidur now. Oh well.

The 2D Metroid games. I can't stand them. I tried but I can't. I'll probably even use my club Nintendo points and grab Metroid again and still not like it.

@bunchanumbers:

that's exactly what i do. Hoping I'll like it but never do. However, i do like top down zelda. I'll buy the new zelda wii u for sure, no telling if ill finish it or enjoy it, but I'll still grab it because i like the zelda theme and setting.

Metroid, especially the 3D Metroid games. I don't like tedious backtracking and getting completely lost in games.

Also, Animal Crossing. Doing chores is not my idea of fun.

Metroid I suppose. Just never really got into the franchise. Didn't like the Prime series and the 2D games were ok.

All except Mario, Metroid, Starfox, Kirby and Zelda...although I never liked any of the 3D Zelda's.

I'm thinking Kirby. It's just way too easy to hold my interest. I don't have anything against cute and happy graphics, but Kirby manages to look uninteresting, everything looks pretty much the same to me. It's kind of fun to copy the abilities of enemies, but not that fun. I really regret I got Kirby on 3DS instead of something else..

Kirby. I got Epic Yarn to try it out, but I just have no real desire to go back and try it. The visuals were nice and cute. It just felt really plain.

Of Nintendo's big guns, probably Animal Crossing. I owned and really enjoyed the original for the Gamecube, but I never cared for the series much after that. I'm glad it's a successful franchise, though; and I can understand its appeal.

I guess it would be Mario Kart at this point. Either that or Mario Party. Not a fan of games with too much uncontrollable circumstances in them. I want my interactions to matter when I play a video game.

starfox. the series needs to be brought back in for a complete overhaul. the type of game starfox is just wouldnt stand as a full priced game now.

unlike games like mario and zelda (which are pretty timeless imho) starfox badly needs a complete overhaul and rethink.

Mario Party

Why is kirby a popular pick? Epic Yarn, Crystal Shards, Kirby's Adventure, and Mass Attack are all really good Kirby games..

It would be Star Fox. Not that I never played a game from the franchise, but the gameplay does not appeal to me.

@wiifan001: I didn't think of Mario Party. That would probably be my #1 pick aswell. Regarding Kirby I mentioned some stuff in my earlier post.. I've tried to get into it with several games, but fail every time. I did find canvas curse rather fun, though.

The Donkey Kong Country franchise. Of all of the surviving platformers that originated in the 8/16-bit eras (Mario, Sonic, Mega Man, Kirby, etc.) it's the one with the least amount of uniqueness and spark to it, IMO. The games just come off as rather bland and tired compared to those other platforming series, where I can recall numerous great moments in each one. I was never able to get into the SNES installments, despite my good intentions; I haven't come close to convincing myself to trying the Wii/Wii U games because of my past history with the series. DKC did spark an interesting animated series back in the day, but even with that, I'm starting to wonder if my interests in it was merely because of the 3D visuals at the time.

It would have to be the PIkmin games never really gotten round to them and to be honest they just don't interest me.
