You should buy Shantae and the Priate's Curse

I've never played a Shantae game before this one. Never really knew what type of games they are. Turns out Shantae and the Pirate's Curse is an awesome Metroidvania style game with great and humorous writing not totally unlike the Paper Mario games. I haven't seen anyone talk about this gem here so I wanted to raise a little awareness. It's available on the eShop on both Wii U and 3DS.

I'm currently around 70% done with the game and It's been FUN. I'm so glad the Metroidvania style of games have made a comeback.

It does look cool, but $20 for a digital game...on a nintendo platform... no way.

I just beat the game. Took me a total of 7 hours and 53 minutes, but I didn't collect everything. $20 is not asking much for a game this long and with such polish. I can understand $20 feels like a lot for a digital downloadable game, but in this case it's well worth it. $15 is a steal.

I've heard some good things about the recent Shantae games too. Glad to hear people are enjoying it.

I do agree though, $20 does seem a bit steep.

@Tonindo: Did you play it on DS or Wii U?

@calway55: I played it on Wii U. There's no difference between the two versions, I just wanted to play it on my TV.

I have looked at it before. I will buy it in due time, but it is not a priority. I really do enjoy the gameplay it offers though.
