Do you guys think that sony and microsoft will use a wiimote like device for their next system? Like will it become a standard the way Nintendo's rumble pak and analog stick have become?

No way - while Nintendo always attempt to be as innovative as possible, Sony and Microsoft simply concentrate on technically improving their hardware.

Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see what Nintendo's next home console will be like - will they revert back to conventional gaming methods or continue to focus on the motion-sensing capabilities demonstrated by the Wii?

No, I have a feeling that micrsoft and sony will be sticking with the mostly button activated gameplay styles. Especially microsoft.

I think you`ll see things like the Sixaxis with pointer functionality included (and obviously rumble). Or a Sixaxis type controller that also comes with a small, seperate, Wiimote-like device.
