i dont think anybody on gamespot would have any sort of praise for Nintendo's Press Conference. But I think Nintendo is OK with that. They're serious about their "expand the audience" initiative, and if you look at this from an adult non-gamer point of view instead of a young hard-core gamer, than you will see that Wii Fit is a pretty good idea that might work.
The reason I dont like Wii Fit is that I think Nintendo is taking the "fitness" idea too far. I mean, playing tennis with ur peeps on Wii Sports is one thing, but doing push-ups and yoga? I dunno, its a stretch, even for casual non-gamers (in my opinion, of course). I think a Wii Sports 2 would've been a better thing to bring, because there's less risk involved.
This Wii Fit thing is very risky, i think. But Nintendo will keep doing what it does best...doing what the other console makers won't.
I'mso desapointed man. It really sucked.
They spend like half an hour talking about WiiFit. Who gives a ****.
Im not overly interested in Wii Fit, but I can see it being a good deal for Nintendo. It will make more wives open to the decision to get one, and thus get it into more house holds, where the Husband will play games, and so will the kids. And they can even play together with Wii Sports.
Nintenod is thinking they are doing everything right. sales say they are.
they are losing me as a hardcore fan though.
it's great that they are expanding the gaming community, but i feel left behind.
AHHHHH!@56 this is why project h.a.m.m.e.r. was cancelled. Nintendo let me down, and now I have no reason to stay loyal to them. I can't believe it, I wanted games, and I got a balance board?! I'm sorry Nintendo but that was horrible. I thought Microsoft's conference was bad, but at least there were games there. Sure there was mario kart and....well that was all that was new, but come on! A fricken boogie board to play games on! And to think, I actually dragged my lazy a$$ out of bed to watch this! I wanted them to show me a new franchise, resurrect a dead one, or at least give me DISASTER! WTF happened to that! It's clear that Nintendo really doesn't care that much for hardcore gamers now that the casual one's are giving them al their money, so after the "big three" I see no reason to keep my wii.
Sometimes now I'm wondering if I bought a games console or the hula hoop for the 21st century.

Nice.
Nintendo is turning themselves into a stepping stone. Everyone buys a Nintendo and when they are bored with their pathetic gimmick games, they will move on to Sony or Microsoft. I guess it's good for everyone involved, but the downside is the core franchises might not be next-gen again... At least Virtual Console is still good, and I'm glad they announced Mario Kart! I didn't think that would come for a long time... so MK is the highlight of Wii for me. Steering wheel is stupidity though.
I think some of you people are seriously overreacting. Nintendo did better than Microsoft which only had Scene It as a new announcement. Also there are a tons of games Nintendo just announced that were not at the pressconference. Stuff like, Mario Party DS and Advance Wars DS 2. The only big thing Sony showed was Killzone 2.
Also, remember that last year, the dropped the Smash Bros bomb 2 days AFTER their conference. E3 is not over people.
I'm still on the fence about Wii Fit. I mean, if the minigames are fun, it could end up being an amusing daily distraction and a more interesting alternative to "regular" excercise. That being said, it could end up being a total piece of cocka dookie, we'll just have to wait and see.
And as much as the lack of MK Wii was, they showed Yoshi Falls...so I am happy
The only thing that has me remotely interested about this game is the fact that it could be implemented in other games for added realism. Like imagine playing Gears of War and ducking down on your pad to take cover. Could really be cool if it was done properly :)The_end_of_doom
I was thinking immediatly after seeing the Balance Board, "Ooo snowboarding and skateboarding games just got a whole lot more fun!"

or maybe to sprint in the game, you have to run in place on the board. If wii fit ends uup being a litte over $50, ill probably get it.
