Fire Emblem Awakening incompatible with my 3DS?

Hi all,

I'm new on the forum so please forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong section...

I bought a 3DS XL a few months ago, and recently I bought a copy of Fire Emblem Awakening, which won't work at all on my 3DS. The game icon doesn't even show up.

This is the 2nd time I buy a copy of this game but it still won't work on my 3DS, whereas both copies did work on other 3DS's (even 3DS XL's). Moreover, my 3DS can read perfectly any other game I tried (Zelda ALBW, Mario 3D Land, Bravely Default, and so on).

Can anyone please tell me if there exists any solution?

More info on my 3DS:

1. It is not hacked and never was (never used a linker what so ever);

2. It is PAL (Europe);

3. Firmware is version 8.1E (Europe).

How very odd....could it have something to do with Region Lock? That's the only explanation I can think of besides blowing on your cartridge.

@outworld222: Thank you very much for your answer! Unfortunately for me, I tried blowing on both cartridges (and inside the console) which doesn't fix the problem ; I also double-checked that the regions were correct, and they were (both the 3DS and the games are PAL)...

Any other idea?

That is really weird. Do other game cartridges work ok on your 3DS?

It might be worth calling Nintendo customer service on this one.

@roboccs: Thanks for your answer! Yes every other game I own works perfectly well: Zelda ALBW, Mario 3D Land, Ocarina of Time 3DS, Bravely Default, Kid Icarus. You're right I think I'm going to write an e-mail to them.

If anyone has a hint for me in the meantime...
