Yeah, it's a pretty meh stage. It'll be ok but they should be going all out with these dlc tracks.

I don't mind old tracks either, wario's gold mine i'm happy about.

I was hoping that they would add battle arenas. That is looking less and less likely.

Ehhh, I just bought the Hyrule Warriors DLC pack because that game is dope. MK8 is a good game, but I'm going to select my DLC carefully for that one. I'll probably get the Zelda pack they are putting out soon I think.

I liked this stage a bit on the DS so it's welcomed.

We already know what some of the other stages are:

1. Wario's Gold Mine (Unfortunately - why they chose this level out of all the other ones they could have, I will never know)

2. Excitebike level

3. FZero Big Blue

4. Hyrule Field/Castle (I'm guessing on this one)

what the video showed that we didn't know already was the karts.

The FZero kart was a given already but the B-Dasher, Master Cycle and the Jeep Tanooki Jeep Kart are new at least to me. I'm liking the Tanooki Jeep Kart.

Because it's good

I do think the tanooki jeap is neat though.

Meh there were much better stages they could have chosen. It was an ok stage.

and yes the tanooki jeep is a nice addition. Just wish all the outfit swaps were just Palette Swaps for the characters. They still could have adjusted stats like they have without wasting character slots. Do it like they did Shyguy and Yoshi but have the adjusted stats.

This course was okay. I like the short cuts in it.

@nini200:

That's subjective, lots of people like that stage, hence why it was likely chosen.

I completely agree. I'm still mad about the pretty bad character list :/

I was kinda hoping they were going to add N64 Wario Stadium complete with cheating shortcuts. I never liked it but my cousin was obsessed with the shortcuts.

Wario's Gold Mine is one of my all time favorites. I can imagine some of the zero-g stuff that 8 can do with it.

Anyway, this Yoshi course looks rather flat. I'm pretty meh about it as well.

Same here. I've been hoping they would do it right for a very long time now though and they just keep screwing it up every time and I'm tired of waiting for another good battle mode. The Wii version had some great battle courses, but was ruined by the rules (forced teams and no eliminations). With Mario Kart 8, it's the opposite; they fixed the rules, but gave us the worst battle courses ever.

Battle mode is Mario Kart 8's biggest flaw and fixing that should have been the #1 priority with DLC. Mario Kart 8 already has great race tracks; what it needs is some great battle arenas. They didn't even have to create any new battle areas; just give me some classic battle arenas like Block Fort and Double Deck and I would be happy.

I hope in the end I don't regret saying this, but I'm glad Nintendo is doing DLC. Because they're currently doing DLC _right_.

F-Zero track anyone?

After watching the trailer I want to be able to design my own Excitebike courses in Mario Kart 8.

I love Excitebike Arena, but I guess that has a lot to do with nostalgia and a certain randomness factor.

As for Yoshi Circuit, I've always loved it! It has great turns and many possibilities for performing mini-boosts.

It would be cool if they made the excite bike track to race like real mx or sx tracks. Make it where you have to hit the jumps just right in a rhythm to go fast.
