Let's discuss about your dream game along with the game that closest to it.

I would like to have a 3-6 person multiplayer semi-sandbox survival/expedition game. In this game, we are an expedition team which will uncover the mystery of an island. We were given a set of supply at start which should lasts a few days. We need to clear the area, set up a base camp, gather some supplies, prepare for a journey further to the heart of the island. Every time we move further, we will encounter clues, creatures (+bosses), and puzzles.

I believed, the forest, should be the closest game to my dream game. But I need it to be a more fast-paced (not too fast though) like left4dead2 so it wouldn't get boring for a multiplayer game. The crafting, survival mode, day-night cycle should be like minecraft. I don't really like a true sandbox game though.. I believed we need a purpose in a game, and true sandbox doesn't feel quite right for me.

I'd really like to play a game like this if there's any.. well, this is my dream game. Now let's hear yours.

A fully interactive game with gameplay that fits the atmosphere, a great story with emotion and choice, and challenge without punishment. A combination of Half-Life's full immersion in gameplay, The Last of Us's story and gameplay tone, the choice system of Deus Ex, and Dark Souls's difficulty.

Mine would be a huge open world zombie game. Like day z but in first person and not broken. And with more buildings and things to interact with and a generally higher production value.

My dream game would be something like No Man's Sky in VR. A vast universe with 1:1 sized planets filled with millions of procedural generated creatures, monsters, huge "living" citys filled with Ai's like in Mass Effect. Also be able to form aliances and take over planets/strongholds, motherships etc.. you could also join a whole bunch of different fractions, doing quests/ bountys etc.. becoming an assasin if you like only in this game you have to target human online players who are busy doing their thing like smugling, questing etc.. without even knowing they have been targeted and not be able to spot you on a radar or whatever. So much more i would like to write down but it would probably be hundreds of pages and since im not getting paid for coming up with ideas for a game like this i will just sit back and hope someone will make it for me.

Star Citizen is pretty much my dream game. The level of simulation/detail combined with the sheer scale and deep lore is a dream come true.

@Lulu_Lulu: and this involves me because......? I'm not the biggest fighting game fan. Sure I play Street Fighter every now and then, but I don't really care about it. Go ahead and trash it. Your choice to do so. Just leave me out of your obsessive need to criticize

I know... I'm just excited ! :D

besides if you take part (with or against me) you might just gain a deeper Appreciation for the game. You might even get it fixed someday, Its a new Gen and Capcom might still in the "figuring out what people want" stage in the developement of their next game. Sounds like an oppertunity to me.

Game needs to be trashed, I don't want small modifications or rebalancing, I'm talking about significant changes the jeapordise the game's identity. You gotta tear it down and build it back up again, for that, you need trash talk, not constructive crtitism. :)

then Lulu can have one of his many Dream Games. Yeah, I sort of have one in each Genre.

@Lulu_Lulu: LOL that's about the most hilariously ignorant statements you've ever said. Let games have their identity and get over it. Stop trying to make it about you and your personal taste and lrt people enjoy what made the game great in the first place. Jeez, that was too funny

Too much Work.... No really, thats why I don't just come out and tell you what me dream game is, I just borrow the shell of an already existing game and build from that....

This is essentially how Devil May Cry, Gears Of War, Lara Croft and The Guardian Of Light Portal were created. Building a game out of thin air is hard.

@Lulu_Lulu: inspiration from other sources is something every medium uses. And you're just being lazy then. It's easy to talk about an existing game. Give yourself a real challenge: form an idea for a new one. I do it all the time.

I think we all do.... Games can't be perfect for everyone. Infact I think they are only perfect in the creators eyes... It might help to do some hypothetical fixes on other games before beginning anew.

@Lulu_Lulu: and gamers are the best way? They're not objective. Don't claim otherwise. This medium is too subjective to please everyone. And yet you crusade for a certain way they should all be made? That's hypocritical

Thats your oppinion.

Anyway one of the reasons why that is is because people don't completely understand gaming or themselves. When people come into this medium for story, graphics or all those other stuff then what do you expect ? Ofcourse you won't please everyone. Its no different with movies that think they can mask they're plot holes, macguffins and general crappiness with A-list Celebrities and Epic Action Sequences. Although to be fair, thats what Thor was to me and I loved it...

Something like GTAV but with 100% custom characters and a story line that evolves with the character. That'd be tight.

GTA V is the closest to my perfect game, 1 where you can do pretty much whatever you want in a huge world with almost no limitations.

Primarily i love racing games but when im not nailing that extra 10th of a second i spend my time in the GTA universe.

@mastermetal777: Dune has so much potential for gaming, and Naughty Dog's style would be a perfect fit. Imagine a TLOU formula, but spanning the growth of Paul Atredies from the Duke's son into Fremen messiah.

Knife fights, worm riding, spice, war against the Harkonen, folding space, Mentats. It'd be nuts. My dream game by far. All the work is already done narratively.

I have always had a thing for exploring in games. Loved teh castlevania series. Also was always intrigued by both space and underwater as they were kinda uncharted territory. For this reason I choose Aquaria and Noctis 4 as my dream games. They let me explore a great world in a setting which I enjoyed. Looking forward to No mans sky.

City of Heroes came closest to my perfect game. I didn't mind the slower MMO-ish combat with me being very new to games.

I would like to see a City of Heroes 2.0 on like a cryengine or something. Something new is welcome delivering on:

* Open world 3rd person RPG.

* On a dynamic game engine.

* Meta or superhero type combat abilities.

* Retro-futuristic sci-fi weapons

* Loot as stat-builders for meta types. Loot as gear for soldier types.

* Story-driven multiplayer -- moreso than Borderlands and waaaaay moreso than Warframe. Yes, those games sound similar to what I'm describing but they BOTH feel like shooting galleries more than narratives.

* If narrative multiplayer can't be achieved on a great game engine, then I guess single player with some multiplayer (but I am hoping that Cyberpunk 2077 will deliver roundly on this last part already.)

* Rewards "detective" work. Rewards for player choices indicating you are paying attention to the story.

* Name your characters as you see fit.

* All in a bronze age of superhero comics type environment. (Late 70s early 80s sci fi with some street grit thrown in.)

So, yeah, I guess I want City of Heroes 2. Imagine how bittersweet it is for me that the first game I stumbled upon was psychologically perfect based on expectations that I didn't know I even had and upbringing? Only to find out no other (great) games are like that and, oh, it's just not around anymore.

It's like that time I was too busy for a while there to enjoy music. My friend took me to a show. It was Broken Social Scene full-band version with horns and female backup singers. I just thought -- oh, okay, all bands are this awesome these days. Weeeeeell, there were a lot of great bands out back then but probably LCD Soundsystem and Broken Social Scene were the best. Other shows after that were just...good...not great.
