Why do games almost always come out on Tuesday?

Just something I've always been curious about, especially since it seems like Thursday or Friday would be a better day for game releases.

I know it has something to do with sales numbers, but I can't remember exactly what it is.

I think most games come out in the UK on Fridays, as most people get paid on Thursdays and it's the weekend.

I think it is so they can prepare for the weekend. If the game sells out on Tuesday, they will know to be prepared and will be able to get more shipped in time.

Almost all DVD's, CD's & games come out on Tuesday. Sure it's probable that some of that has to do with the mfg shipping on Fri-Sat. Otherwise I have no clue.

Maybe cause shiping usually takes 1 days. And they dont ship stuff during weekends. So if order was made last week they ship it monday and its in stores the day after.
