I bought my PS2 Fat in 2003. As of now, it is running with no problems (and I'm having a blast playing Rock Band 2 on it).

Got mine in 2001. Still runs fine thought I think the laser is dying. Sometimes it won't read games and I have eject/insert 3 times before it reads.

I have 2 fat ps2's up and running. One from the launch and one from around 2004. It takes about 10 minutes of resetting before they detect and play a game disc, and I open it up and clean it every few months.

Ive had it for at least 7 years no problems yet. It even fell off my car on the highway and only chipped the corner of it. I was careless and put on the top of the car then forgot to put it inside. What doesn't kill it only makes it stronger. I guess that applies to ps2s also.

So does mine but Its been doing that for as long as I can remeber so dont worry about that. My 360 has just devolped the same noise which is a bit worrying seeing as though its a brand new console which replaced my last one that RROD.

I sent mine to Microsoft in the RROD box. Figured they should understand what makes a well made system.

I still play my launch PS2, and it works for the most part. Except it can't read Dual-Layer discs, so God of War and Rogue Galaxy are still sitting on my shelf, unplayed :( Picking up a PS2 Slim after Christmas, though. Only $100.

Mine was a display model in target, I gave it to a friend who lives in SD, sent it USPS as cheap as I could to him, he shipped it back a while ago and it still works!

I bought one after 2 of my slim PS2's broke down. The first one started scratching the discs and the controllers used in the other one stopped vibrating.

I still have it up. Works fine except for occasional disk read problems, and it won't read any blue disks (I only own Way of the Samurai and Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 though for blue disks) I got my 360, Wii (which also gives me a Gamecube), 360, PS3 (also gives me a Playstation), and PS2 all hooked up. My Xbox and N64 are set up, I just have to unplug the cables for my PS2 and plug in one of their three. Snes and Genesis are in a box at the moment.

I used to have a collection like that. Unfortunately, while I was in the process of moving, my parent's basement flooded and ruined just about all ofmy old school systems and games.Man it sucked! I had a Sega Master System, NES, Genesis, SNES, N64, Playstation, Saturn, and Dreamcast. All but the NES and Dreamcast were destroyed. I had about 15 games per system(33 for my Saturn)! It was a sad sad day! =(
