I can't remember exactly, but it was either Golden Axe on the PC , Prince of Persia on the PC or TMNT2:Arcade on the PC.

I played all of them when I was 3 , and one of them was the first, though Tetris might be another candidate since I played that too.

I remember my first three, but which of these came first is anyone's guess. It was either Sonic The Hedgehog...

...The Secret of Monkey Island...

...or SimCity...

You must be mistaken. Duck Hunt was only available for the NES. Unless of course, you might be thinking of Safari Hunt for the Master System.

I was about to post this. Duck Hunt was never released on any home console other than the NES

I still have it, it's a really great (and underappreciated) game! The music from the first level brings me way back...

My mistake. You are correct. lol That's a pretty good indication of how long it's been since I've played it.

I'm not quite sure, but I think it was with either Sonic 1 or Super Mario Brothers. I'm gonna lean towards Sonic as one of the earliest memories I have is that of the Blue Blur jumping around on a TV :P

Oh god yes, waiting forever in front of a flashing screen that could give you epilepsy was fantastic. Most of the time I'd go make a cup of tea while it was loading, come back and sometimes it would be stuck like that. Probably the worst media format ever created but I didn't know any better.

When my brother told me NES games started immediately I didn't believe him, I thought there must be at least a 1 minute loading time or something. It wasn't Mario that made me a Nintendo fan to begin with it was technological miracles like that. Something kids these days won't understand as much :P

First game we had at home was Canyon Climber:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnJU4fiiE2w

We had a TRS-80 (Radio Shack) computer that same year (1982).

That's the first we had but I'm sure I played at least Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man or Galaga at the local bowling alley before then.

Very hard to say exactly. It was on a cassette loading Atari. i think it was a 65XE, but there are a few that all look the same, 130xe, 800xe - I think they are all basically the same machine anyway - 8 bit anyway. The only game name I remember is Up up and away. My favourite one, I can't remember the name of. Only that you had to guide this ship through a side scrolling level. You had to avoid the walls, and later on there were missile silo type things that fired rockets up at you.

LOZ: Link to the Past and then I remember within the same hour of starting that, Super Mario World.

I think starting off with those two games partially shaped who I am today as a gamer.

I remember playing Wolfenstein 3D on our old apple computer. I was like 6 or 7, and my parents didn't know we had that game. And I remember playing Oregon Trail on the school computer, along with JumpStart 4th grade. :D

Some Atari game that I don't remember and didn't care much about at the time. However the first game that I truly "fell in love with" was Super Mario Bros. on the Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt combo-cartridge that was packed-in with the Nintendo Entertainment System. I got it with my NES when I was 6 or 7 on either my birthday or Christmas (give me a break here on my memory, it was a loooong time ago, I'm 28 now). That game is burned into my brain forever. When I get Alzheimer's at 70, the layout of the levels in Super Mario Bros. will be the last thing to go.
