Even though video games have become more mainstream as a hobby, there's still a stigma against adults playing them, with some people thinking you're a manchild for still playing video games as an adult.
Are you ever "too old" for video games?

They say your dexterity dwindles as you age. Once that’s gone, then you’re forced to buy a playstation and buy their movie and anime games that require little skill, but have that story to keep you entertained.
Not happening to me. I’d sooner quit gaming rather than care who my character is dating.
I think this stigma is slowly going away. Any new medium is distrusted by those who don't grow up with it for a while.
Like, me as a 30 year old, and Tik Tok. WTF is that shit?
Anyways, even my 65ish year old parents don't give me flak anymore for continuing to play games (though that is probably in part due to my not living at home anymore so its not as in their face)

"Too old" to have a hobby...???
I mean, if a you've got a hobby that doesn't involve doing illegal stuff, doesn't lead to neglect your duties or is not downright harmful to you or your surroundings, what's wrong with that?

Those would be people I wouldn't care to associate with so I have no reason to care what they think. I'm a married father of two working professional who turns 44 this year and I make no secret of the fact that gaming is one of my interests.
I think it a lot more 'socially acceptable' or even actually just normal for adults to game. I know plenty of grown men who play quite a bit. I don't think I will ever age out of it.
eh,I enjoyed my run with gaming when it was one of my major interests as a child through through my late teens,I can't say that i've really stopped enjoying it but I've put it into the back burner for when I literally can't find anything else to do with my free time.Literally the only way I can really find enjoy some of the video games i play these days is If I can explore and find someway to modify the challenges in non traditional ways if no other options are available, for example what is shown on as just right - tough based on rating of difficulty on gamefaqs,I want it to be grueling and insurmountable...
Been gaming since birth don’t see myself ever stopping. I’m 42 now will be 43 before the end of the year.
I don't know...are you too old to have fun?
No?
Then there is your answer.
People are dumb. It's perfectly OK to do something like collect stamps, build RC airplanes, make sourdough bread, but you start playing a video game and suddenly you're wasting your time? GTFO.
No such thing. And the people who say such things are ignorant as hell as they sit on the couch and binge-watch shows.
Tho I don't have as much time as I had before I don't think I'll ever stop playing.
My sessions will certain become shorter and focused on a singular game but it will never stop.
no. there's plenty of light apps and games that keep people gaming. How i see it, and remember seeing it, people played video games for a long long time. You might not have as much time as you had playing games while growing up, but eventually they find their way to pop up, and people who you didn't think game , do.
Some of the games that are spin-offs of movies and mainstream media don't really ever get old. In fact! in some cases they keep certain franchises going.
At this point, I've been through so much hell with my parents when I was a kid and my in-laws thinking I was shit because I played video games. I don't give a crap, I'll play till I drop. There's nothing that anyone can say now that hasn't been thrown at me. Gaming for life!
