Should I Continue Playing Dark Souls 2?

I played the shit out of the game when it came out. But I quit playing back in July. I really like the game but I'm wondering if hackers are showing up on PS3. I never purchased the DLC because I figured the game would be full of cheaters in no time. Cheaters ruin any interest I have in playing online games. Once I see cheaters I quit playing. If it's not full of cheaters yet I know it's only a matter of time. I'm wondering if I should pick up playing again?
