Sure, I've beat Pokemon games from every generation, but I've never completed one. By completed, I mean have you ever actually completed everything there is to do in a Pokemon game? That includes completing the Pokedex, beating the story mode, and going to every location available in the game and doing what needs to be done there.

No, I've never done that. It's borderline impossible these days.

Completing, from my point of view, is when I 100% a game. Whether that's collecting all of the film reels in L.A. Noire and finding every car in the city, or just beating the game and getting all of the achievements. However, that's just my opinion and I'm just a trainer who wants to be the best and catch 'em all. :)

I've done everything possible in Red, Yellow and Gold. From the 3rd gen on I found it too much of a chore to do things like completing the Pokedex and stuff.

Lol funny you should say that... I know someone who actually completed the entire national pokedex for Pokemon Black. (Aside from the last three after Kyurem. Like, Keldeo, the dancing thing and Genesect.) And he did it ocmpletely legitamately. Trading, transferring, etc. He had every single Pokemon in his Pokedex.

Then, for some reason unfathomable to me, he sold it.

Yeah, my friend completed a National Dex in multiple Pokemon games. I don't know how he does it.

I did in Red and Blue, but that's it. I didn't bother with the contests or finishing any of those Battle Tower things.

Never completed a Pokedex. To be honest, that portion of the series has never really appealed to me. I just like setting up a party, leveling them up and crushing the Elite 4. Then I restart and do it all over again with a different team.

Only Red, but I was a teenager (It's cool for teens to play Pokemon, right?) back then. So, I had loads of free time. I even got Myu in Pokemon Red with the rest of the 150.

If he had done everything there is to do, why would he keep it? Must have taken him a looong time and he probably wanted to play something else.

Yep! I completely finished Pokemon Red and Pokemon Silver. Didn't bother with the next two gens after that. Though the only Pokemon I am missing from the White NationalDex is Keldeo.

That's what the trading features are used for ;) But no, there isn't any single game that you can get all Pokemon in without trading.

I know a guy that got 2 GBA's and a copy of both Ruby and Sapphire just so he could get a full Pokedex. At the time I thought he was mad... and I still think he is to this day

Beaten them, yes, fully finished everything, no, the closest I ever came to finishing the pokedex was years ago back when I first had blue version. got up to 143 then my brother evolved his kubuto by mistake and I had no way of getting it, without one of us starting again, so I just gave up. Never came that close again, instead I chose to concentrate on batteling rather than catching pokemon.

I put tons of time into multiple Pokemon games. Can't say I was ever dedicated enough to complete the Pokedex, namely due to the trading and whatnot you'd have to do.

Trading is really frustrating if you're just doing blind trades with random people, especially the normal Global Trade Service or whatever it's called. The GTS Negotiations, where you trade one on one with a player, are really annoying because you can't type or talk to the other player, you can only use four emoticons: ":)", ":(", "<3" and "!", which makes it really hard. I mean, it's easier to use a forum for trading and everything, but a lot of times if you're just gaming on the go, you won't have a laptop to communicate with a friend to trade with you, so you've gotta just trade with random people.

The normal GTS tells you to choose which Pokemon you want, its gender and its level, and it gives you eight people who all want a legendary or something completely absurd.

Only Pokemon Red Version (I completed the Pokedex, Story, and I went to every area in the game)

Nintendo_Ownes7

Same here.

The only other one I got close to was Pokemon gold. I think I managed to have 230 or so caught in my pokedex (I think I had seen all of them). Haven't played a pokemon game since then.

Red, blue, gold and silver. I also got very close to completing platinum on the DS, but I was never able to unlock the ability to go back to the original game world, because I couldn't complete the pokedex since there was that one pokemon that you could only get by trading with one of those other games, either pokemon ranger or mystery dungeon.

When I was a kid I completed the R/B Pokedex... and realized what a complete waste of time it was. In Black and White 2, there's an actual reward for completing the regional Pokedex, and it's about time.

But other than that, I'm notorious for leaving the post game stuff untouched while spending hundreds of hours on competitive play. It took me two years to go catch Heatran in DP.

Only Pokemon Red. The other Pokemon games lost the charm of the original and appeared excessively childish as I aged.

Story mode - several games, several replays of games. Pokedex - since it's ever evolving, thanks to introducing new pokemon with new games, I haven't finished that yet. I've been pretty close with gen 1 and 2 pokedex in Soulsilver, just from playing alone and trading a few pokemons with a friend for them to evolve. Visit every location - I'm fairly sure I have visited the entire map for all of the pokemon games I own, of the available areas (these do not include newmoon island and the likes where you need an event ticket) except for Firered and the Sevii islands. So, 2/3 yes.

I only ever collected all 151 Pokemon in blue version. But then someone (an early ex of my sister) decided to start a new game, and unwittingly deleted my save...

Just as well I liked him :P

I completed Pokemon Blue, but after the new gens I kind of gave up trying to complete the pokedex.
