While I'm certainly looking forward to Metal Gear Solid V, Dragon Age: Inquisition, and The Witcher 3 I've already been quite satisfied being current gen with games like Forza 5, Dead Rising 3, and Killer Instinct. Even with most multigen games such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, Watch Dogs, Wolfenstein, Titanfall, etc. I've been happy with going current gen.
There is no next gen just this gen. The systems are out and going to be out for a year now. So these are all current gen games. As for your question Dragon Age Inquisition looks promising.
I mean games worth buying a new console for. PS4 / X1. After playing the over hyped, disappointing Watch Dogs on PS3, I want the best experience possible with new games that look like they will actually be worth the money. Especially the ones I posted videos for.
@Archangel3371: I've been thinking about getting Wolfenstein on PS3 but after seeing gameplay for the games I listed, I might just hold out until I get a PS4.
for me, there is no reason to buy another gaming console and will be switching back to gaming on a pc and stocking my 360 library.
witcher 3.
I was going to be upgrading my PC this year in October, but since Batman Arkham Knight was delayed... I'll have to wait until 2015.
Kinda bugs me that the mage in the DA video swings his ass when he walks. I'm just imagining trying to play a burly knight in heavy plate armor... just totally ruins the image. At least it goes away when he runs.
Mordor surprised me at e3 by actually looking fun. It is being done by Monolith, which I didn't know going in, and kinda explains to me why it actually looks decent. But Witcher 3 is in an entirely different league from these other games.
Nothing so far. But Fallout 4, GTA 6, another Driver or Burnout game, these would be games that would get my interest.
Ehhhhhhhhhhherrrummm... The Wonderful 101? Dead Rising 3? Maybe Mario Kart 8. There's not a lot out right now, but over the coming year or so The Witcher 3, Yoshi's Woolly World, Crackdown 3, Scalebound, Quantum Break and Splatoon will justify the thousand+ I've spent on systems alone. Right? ...right?
Right now it would be Pikmin 3 and Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze. Two of the most well designed, completely polished, and content rich experiences of the past decade or more. I'd even go as far as to say that Tropical Freeze is the greatest platformer I have ever played in my 20+ years of gaming. It's as perfect as it gets. An absolute masterpiece.
I'm definitely going to build a new pc so I can play Witcher 3 and Dragon Age 3 on a worthy system. But I'll die before I play them on a console.
The new Zelda for WII U would be a good argument for me.
But it's too soon to decide since we only saw like 20 seconds of video.
I can't think of any on the PS4 or Xbone (that aren't also on PC).
Wii U is definitely worth buying already, but with the release of Bayonetta 2, Smash Bros and for me, Splatoon, it'll become irresistible.
as a guy who yaps about there being zero reason to buy a new console, i will add, that the witcher3 would be my primary reason and my hope in the next tes/fallout games, dragon age, future splinter cell, halo's and half-life3 would drive me. surprisingly, as a guy who hates combo combat mechanics, i loved arkham city (no desire to buy the first) and if it were to be console exclusive i would have hope, as well.
i desire hardcore, immersive, complex, sophisticated and difficult (a.i., primarily) GAMEPLAY.
Absolutely none for me right now. Going next gen is just better graphics. When they start to offer notable content and gameplay experiences that you simply can't get on prior gen versions, then I'll start considering jumping in.
As of today, they don't have games I'd want to buy on them period, even if I cared that the resolution was higher.
@Jacanuk
Come on dude.... Don't you think the 2nd part of your point was a bit much ?
Eh? why? its a fact that graphics is better and that with most games having mod-support it also makes them a tad better than on consoles.
I like consoles as much as the next gamer, but i would never deny the facts when they are as obvious as that. But what makes me buy them are the exclusives not the multi-platform titles, there my pc gaming rig is fine and honestly why would anyone trade their ferrari for a prius?
