Hey everyone I wanted to know your Favorite Boss Fight(you can mention more than one if you want) of all time.I'm not too sure about mine and as of the games I have played at the moment I would say hmmmm Magus maybe? From Chrono Trigger.Just because Magus was awesome,as both a boss and a boss fight, there was quite a bit of build-up going into the boss, you knew it was gonna be intense. But if not Magus it COULD be Ganon/Ganondorf from OoT(have not played many of the other Zelda games,I REALLY want to play MM,as I think my opinion on favorite Zelda game can very well change),Red from Pokemon G/S/C/HG/SS,Blue from Pokemon Red and Blue,Magus from Dark Souls:AotA(lol),Ornstein and Smough from Dark Souls,Gadflow/Tirnoch from Kingdoms of Amalur,Grigori from Dragon's Dogma and IDK I will update in case I need to.So,now its your turn

Phalanx from Shadow of the Colossus. Riding my horse to jump onto the wings of a flying sand dragon and trying desperately to stay on top while he flies and does a barrel roll not only makes it my favorite boss fight, but also one of my top moments in gaming period.

I'm a sucker for Puzzle Bosses..... So yeah... My favvourite boss fight is just about any good Puzzle Boss.

I think one of the most unique would be Victor Freeze from Arkham City.... Which reminds me of David From The Last Of Us.

C'thun from Temple of Ahn'Qiraj or The Lich King from Icecrown Citadel
As for single player, probably the Alien Mothership from Metal Slug X

The final Ghirahim battle in Skyward Sword was something that really blew me away and it still does today. It proves how incredible/intense motion gaming can be when done well.

Many of the boss fight in Bayonetta also stand out as well as Credo from Devil May Cry 4

Without a doubt in my mind, it would have to be Fatman from MGS2.

The combination of the shock value from being assaulted by an obese man on roller blades, the interesting nature of the fight and having to frantically search for the final bomb only to realize it was under his corpse made for one unforgettable experience.

@Lulu_Lulu: I only find something tedious if you're repeating the same exact things over and over. And apart from having to stab the weak points, no boss feels the same at all.

psycho mantis holds a special place in my heart as one of the coolest boss fights, but one of my all time favorite boss fights comes from an obscure indie game called concursion.

the game is an awesome mix of different genres of games and the boss on the 3rd act has you playing as the ninja character(think like ryu from old school ninja gaiden) fighting against a trio of final fantasy like characters in a turn based battle. Thing is your character is playing like an action platformer while the bosses are playing in a turn based style, complete with hp/mp at the bottom of the screen along with a FF3 like meter that fills up before they take their turn. The whole fight was extremely funny and not like anything I have ever seen before.

Repition is what games do best.... Besides I was speaking interms of gameplay only..... I'd wager you liked it because it was different and atmospheric and all that that jazz developers do to mask shallow gameplay...

@Lulu_Lulu: Or maybe I liked it because the mechanics actually fit the atmosphere and story being told. This wasn't some badass swordsman, it was just a kid looking to make his girlfriend come back to life. He barely knew how to swing a sword, but was a skilled archer and horseback rider. To see him struggling to climb a moving beast and awkwardly stab it like he'd never killed anything so big before in his life was something that made it feel tense and exciting and realistic for me.

Stop assuming to know the reasons I like things. I wanna feel connected to the character I'm playing as. Otherwise, what's the point in playing a narrative-driven game? I'm not the competitive type. I couldn't care less for high scores or a high K/D ratio. I've never played games for any of those things. So I wanna feel like I can relate to the characters I play as instead of simply controlling them in order to validate my skills. I'm that type of gamer that likes good mechanics, but can also take the time to appreciate what the developer is actually trying to do with the mechanics they deliberately put into a game. Not every game that doesn't have fluid mechanics is out of lazy design, like you seem to think, and I don't think you can comprehend it. But I don't care. As long as those games exist, I'll continue to play them for at least trying something out of the norm and that handles well, alongside all of the typical fluid games. You can keep playing whatever floats your boat, but don't try to sound like you're a better gamer, because there's no such thing.

Yeah... Thats pretty much what I said..... :p

It trades mechanical depth for touchy feely mumbo jumbo.

@Lulu_Lulu: Says you, but I say the mechanics are deep enough for the purpose, which is simply climbing monsters to stab their weak spots. Not every game needs to be so complex to be entertaining.

@SilverBlade1805: Oh, me and Lulu? Oh this is a common thing here. We differ in our game design philosophies big time. Neither of us is wrong in what we want in a game, but sometimes the clash gets interesting.

Gotta agree with the other fans of the Mr. Freeze encounter in Arkham City. The fight was great, but the story line leading up to it was such a great homage to the Batman: The Animated Series episode "Heart of Ice" that it pretty much stole the entire game.

Other favorites:

The final boss in Alice: Madness Returns, the final boss in Chrono Trigger, Olga Flow in Phantasy Star Online.
