Manny Calavera may not be "real" detective , but the entire story is about uncovering a conspiracy.

Manny easily is one of the best detectives in video-games despite the game not calling him a detective.

Zombie Thread !

Crimes and Punishments came out last month, its definately worth playing.

Murdered Soul Suspect has been out for awhile now. I want to buy it, but I'm waiting for it's price to drop to a nice low cool 20 bucks. ;)

If you want to play a recent game, Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishment came out a couple weeks ago. From what I've seen it looks cool, I'll be buying soon I think.

Indigo Prophecy (also known as Fahrenheit) on the original Xbox. Me and a friend had a blast playing this. It has a huge story which is insanely good, at least in my opinion.

One of the best adventure games I've ever played.

I advise a new indie game: Detective Ross - Episode 1: A PI in Paris.

The Story: Mark T. Ross is an american private investigator who recently set up his office in Paris, France. One day, a mysterious and powerful man asks him to find his kidnapped son. With only a few hints, Ross will make his best to solve the case.

Heavy Rain, LA Noire are the two best from last gen. Murdered Soul Suspect. The Sherlock Holmes and Phoenix Wright games are supposed to be good but haven't played them.

Nothing comes close to Broken Sword series.

Pretty much any Adventure Game will do.

Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth

It has an investigative tone, and some stealth and combat gameplay... not a traditional "detective" game, but something a little more serious, creepy and challenging.
