Video Player Woes

The gamespot video player is just awful! Not only is it much slower compared to, say, YouTube but, more importantly, for the past few months, it doesn't work at all. It just keeps loading.

Any solutions?

The infinite loading tends to be down to a content blocker of some form - the easiest way to confirm if this is the case is to simply disable ALL of your add-ons completely (incognito for chrome and safe mode for firefox (restart with add-ons disabled in the help menu - no need to reset firefox when it asks) are the fastest ways of doing this temporarily) temporarily. The cause is typically ad block, ghostery or an AV suite's browser add-on but pretty much anything that blocks content has the chance to cause that issue due to the way the video ad part is set up.
