Paging not working correctly in forums

Randomly, when clicking through pages they'll display a random number of posts per page (anywhere from like 3 to 20). On more than one occasion, the second page came up with only 3 posts on it. Subsequent pages were fine. I'll screenshot it next time it happens.

Odd, my immediate guess would be that the page failed to fully load and as a result subsequent posts merely weren't loaded after when they should've been. Something like that could be caused by a rather large number of things though, even something fairly common like too much interference on a wifi network could cause the connection to be severed briefly - enough to affect a single page load every now and then but not have a significant effect on your net usage.
