I am pretty sure it was possible to delete single blog posts on the old site. While I was editing a blog, it posted 3 copies of the blog somehow. I'd just like to be able to delete the duplicates, but cannot find an option anywhere to delete a blog. Is it now not possible to delete a blog?

There's a delete option alongside edit/flag for moderators/staff, so if there isn't one for users it would appear to be a permissions thing - you really should be able to delete your own blogs though.

Just as a check, I tried to delete the one you edited to the title of ".sfdghrehreyteyetye" and it seems to have deleted fine, though refreshing once made it reappear in non-deleted form, refreshing a 2nd time made it delete it properly again, so it would appear the functionality is working at least, making it just a permissions thing. You should no longer be able to see that particular one (but still see the other 2 duplicates, for now) assuming it's working properly. As for adding permissions to let users delete their own blogs - hopefully that'll come soon.

PS to staff/devs: It appears in the global mod activity history with the original name, despite the user themselves editing the title/content - I doubt we'll be using this a great deal anyway, but it makes it quite misleading when a title-edited duplicate is deleted. This only applies to blogs, forum threads work as expected.

@robbristow: Thanks for the response. Yea us users would like to delete blogs too. For us there is just an edit and flag button. No delete button.

@robbristow: I've found interactivity within individual blog posts also appears to be a bit buggy - e.g. Edit/Flag buttons cannot be clicked, and embedded video not played - outside of the individual post (i.e. the general Blog listing) the same functionality seems unimpeded. I'll do some more testing when I can find some time and let you know what I find.

I inspected my blog and I cannot delete my own posts. I have to say it would be ridiculous if this is a long-term decision and not a lack of coding for it. I read in another thread that the code for the new GameSpot is being written and does not come pre-made, so I assume this situation is the latter. It is most likely obvious, but I will say it anyway.

I would appreciate this feature, so please update this, site developers.

that seems a little, um, how do you say, socialistic, to be unable to delete a blog/image you may have put up in the heat of the (inebriated)moment. what is the reason behind this? to make banning easier?
