What nonsense is this? Even the most malicious sites don't stoop this low.

@Gamer_4_Fun: Well, it's actually fairly common practice across many sites these days, including IGN, ESPN, Yahoo, to name just a few.

Can't you guys mute the sound at least? I am not even playing the video and the autoplay ads just blasts through my speakers.

@wemmick: Just because it is common on other sites, doesn't mean it is acceptable. It's obvious that you guys will do what you want despite the wants of your audience.

Hey guys, I found a way to block all autoplay video and ads. There is an extension/add on for Chrome and Firefox called "Flashcontrol". It allows you to block all autoplay flash ads and video. I've been using it for a while on this site and it works great.

I wouldn't mind it so much but I'm being shown the same sportsline ad on every video. Months of having the exact same ad forced on me is very, very annoying. If I'm going to be forced to watch an ad before every video, it would be nice if it wasn't always the same ad for a website I'll never visit.

Autoplay of videos and they use flash. Not to mention they force http even when you try to navigate to https. Pathetic Gamespot. This isn't 1995. Https isn't a performance hit. Why are you still using http?
