In an age of rapidly advancing games, simplicity doesnt make this a horrible game. It makes it one of the best.

Given todays day and age, this game is a jewel in the crown of the Digimon video game franchise. This game has a good amount of replayability, but it can also be beaten quickly and efficiently if your that type of gamer.

This games graphics today arent anything great, but they were decent back in the day. The polygonal battles make this game really interseting, not much card games do that today. While most of the battle effects are used over and over, it still make the battles feel "eccentric."

While the game is simple, the battles can be very intense. It is sorta a guessing game, but one mistake and you could lose. And there is some skill involved, playing the right card at the right time can save your hide. Luck plays a large pat of the game, but you also need to know what your doing. Some of the "big" battles can be very engaging, and watching your creature kill his can fill you full of pride.

There is a good amount of cards in this game, enough to make you replay some battles. And the pure challenge of some battles alone can make replay them. Although I will warn you, the AI isnt the greatest. The AI can make some pretty stupid moves sometimes, but only occasionally.

This game does feature split-screen battle and you can trade cards between other human players if there far enough in the main game. Comparing two peoples decks in a heated battle is fun, and since your fighting someone real, you can earn some bragging rights.
