Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't rpg's supposed to draw you in with an exciting world and interesting characters ? Well Darksouls lacks both. Every area you visit will look exactly the same with maybe an extra barrel here and there. There are multiple characters you interact of the course of your adventure all of which are bland and un interesting with poor lip syncing and voice acting. This may not be so bad a decent story was in the game. But there really is no story. You go from bland area to bland area with no real purpose. Exciting gameplay ? No. The A.I is ridiculous and the lock on system is finicky and un responsive. thought the areas are the same maybe you just love looking at though pretty graphics ? No the visuals are severely outdated,games like Zelda twilight princess (2006) and god of war (2005) look better than this game (2011). Darksouls is known for its difficulty which might be fun for some hardcore players but irritating for the other 90% of the gaming world. You die multiple times sometimes by not even getting hit (one of the games many annoying glitches). when you do die you drop your "souls" the games xp system to upgrade your character threw this overly complicated menus. The only way 2 get them back is to travel to place you died and enemies you killed respawn and are harder to kill this time around. Overall I o not recommend this game to ANYONE. If you want a good graphics get skyrim or wait for mass effect 3. a good story ? Deux X or however you pronounce it. good gameplay ? anything besides dark souls
