An important game for the games industry and the most intense experiance ive had in years.

So, among friends, and certainly out on the forums, you hear an increasing skepticism about the direction the games industry is taking. Games get easier and easier. Its as i you don't need to put in an effort to beat the game anymore. Hard games can be frustrating, but they demand you focused to move forward. And maybe its the focus that's gone missing in the games of the last decade. You don't care about the world you are playing in, you just run bye it. Stumble upon an enemy and mash some buttons and after 20 hours its all over and yo've passed level 1-to-10 and they were all nice but you forget it soonish.

But, for games like Res evil (4 at least) and this one - you are actually in there. Every step you take, every corner you pass you look around carefully. When killing a boss you don't just feel YEAH. You much more feel like you actually accomplished something. You can put that past level behind you like 3 years of bad luck. When you find a checkpoint you don't feel "hey, neat". Instead feel like you wandered the desert thirsty for weeks and, led by the only good left in this world, found an oasis.

60 hours in (says save game, even though i think its more with all deaths) this game is as strong as after my initial review. What is really cool is the carefully constructed world. A dynamic and coherant place unlike most level-editor-products out there. Meaning, someone has actually tried to create a place rather than utilizing assets in an editor ( that prefers you create flat world with some occasional hills).

Just so oh awsome. Finally two things, its apparent that the xbox owners are a turd crowd rating this game almost 1.0 lower that our ps3 friends. Second, dont rate this game if you dont get it. Dont buy it if you are put off by the reviews.
