Extremely Addicting

User Rating: 9 | Call of Duty: World at War X360
For the longest time i have been away from gamespot, but suddenly came back. As i came back i reminisced on the recent games ihave playing since my departure. Call of Duty jumped to my mind fairly quickly. If i had to sum up this game in a few words, it would be uncontrollabe addiction. COD WAW is thefifth installment of the popular historic fps shooting franchise. I have to say after playing the game for many hours i was not dissapointed, in how addicting this game was. This installment of COD is set in ww2. you ahve the opportunity to play as eiter U.S, German, Russian or the japanese factions each with distinctive commentary and uniforms. Personally i like the Russian uniforms best. You can choose to play the singleplayer campaign, which is entertaining but a tad bit short imo, or take on the best part of the game in its multiplayer. The multiplayer is what sealed my fate for tiredless hours of excitment. There is the traditional multiplayer, i.e team deathmatch, capture the flag, etc. Also there is the Nazi zombies co-op mission you can do which is quite entertaining but too bland for me. As for audio i find it to be just right and entertaining. the music is quite pleasant, a little outdated but what can you expect for a game set in the 1940's. As for gameplay, you can choose from many different guns in multiplayer, some being better than others and also you can use perks (handicaps) which can give you an edge or just be completely cheap *cough juggernaut (gives you increased health)* flares tabun gas and bouncing bettys (pressure sensitive mines) are also some of the arsenal you can use in this game. Overall Cod WaW is a fun exciting fast pace historical shooter which actually taught me a bit about history. what more can you ask for in a video-game. The single player and co-op is fun for a while but if you want to get hooked you must play the online multiplayer. The leveling system and prestige (giving up all your xp to receive cool badges and a custom class slot keeps you coming back for more. Hopefully i see you on the battlefield.
