Call of Duty 2: Big Red 1 will probably share the fate Finest Hour did. It is an average game for the PS2 in a worn-out genre, managing nothing revolutionary or remarkable like its computer versions. However, Call of Duty 2: Big Red 1 gives you an interesting plot, above average gameplay, and a remarkable soundtrack that is known in the series (Many actors for the HBO series 'Band of Brothers' lent their voices during the production of Big Red 1). The guns fire and sound just like the real thing, mainly because the producers recorded the sounds of the guns and put them into the game. Many will be surprised by how open the enviroments are, something that really turned many people off for the older games. If you are really looking for a great war game for the PS2, look elsewhere. If you are looking for a great Call of Duty game that shows you all the series can do, look for Call of Duty 2 on the PC. However, if you wish to have a few hours of fun, open, and exciting gameplay, try renting this game.
