Stardew Valley Mac/Linux Release Date Confirmed, Multiplayer Still in the Works
Stardew Valley's substantial content update is also in progress.
Stardew Valley is headed to consoles, but it's making a stop at Mac and Linux on its way there. The farming-and-life game will launch for both platforms on July 29.
Creator and lone developer Eric Barone (aka ConcernedApe) made the announcement on Twitter. He added that "[m]ultiplayer, localizations, and the version 1.1 update are still in progress." The 1.1 update is a "substantial content update," according to Barone.
Stardew Valley's upcoming co-op multiplayer mode was confirmed a couple months ago, alongside console ports. It was announced that Stardew Valley will come to PS4, Xbox One, and Wii U at E3 this year. On PC, sales passed one million copes less than two months after launch.
Shortly after release, Pokemon were added to the game via mods. The pocket monsters replace the animals on your farm. For example, your dog becomes a Growlithe, your cat becomes a Meowth, and your horse becomes a Ponyta.
GameSpot's Mary Kish produced a video on Stardew Valley about how it can make you a happier person. You can watch it for yourself here.
