Sony has dated its E3 2016 press conference, and it's slated for its usual timeslot on the Monday just before the conference begins. We'll have the live stream embedded here, so be sure to save this URL to watch the conference when it kicks off.

Invites began going out to the media this afternoon, revealing the briefing is scheduled for 6 PM PT on Monday, June 13. It'll take place at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles, a few minutes away from the Los Angeles Convention Center where E3 takes place.

The invitations make no mention of what'll be on display, but PlayStation VR is likely to be one of the main focuses with its release approaching later this year. We may also finally get some official word from Sony regarding the reports that it's working on an enhanced version of the PS4, though that's obviously speculation at this point.

Microsoft will host its usual E3 briefing earlier in the day on June 13, at 9:30 AM. Nintendo, meanwhile, reportedly won't have the same sort of Nintendo Direct event it's held in recent years. It's been confirmed that Electronic Arts won't have a booth or conference at this year's show, and Activision followed suit shortly after. You won't see Disney Interactive or Wargaming hold floor space this year, either.
