Grand Theft Auto V premium bundles revealed

$150 Collector's Edition includes money bag, snapback hat, blueprint map, artwork, and various in-game items and bonuses; all preorders receive access to pilot atomic blimp vehicle.

Rockstar Games today announced premium bundles for this September's upcoming open-world game Grand Theft Auto V.

The $80 GTAV Special Edition includes a copy of the game, a collectible steelbook with never-before-seen artwork of Michael, Trevor, and Franklin, as well as a 21.5-by-26.75-inch blueprint map that shows off Los Santos and Blaine County.

The bundle also packs in various in-game perks, including a special ability boost for Michael, Trevor, and Franklin. With the boost, players' special ability bar will generate 25 percent faster.

The GTAV Special Edition also includes single-player Stunt Plane Trials and bonus outfits, tattoos, and "special deals" from shopkeepers inside the gameworld. Lastly, the premium bundle offers gamers additional weapons, including the pistol .50, the bullpup shotgun, and the melee hammer.

A $150 GTAV Collector's Edition will also be available. It includes everything from the Special Edition, as well as a special GTAV-themed 10.75-by-8.5-inch security deposit bag with a logo key.

The bundle also includes a "Los Santos"-branded GTAV hat made by New Era and classic GTA characters for use within the game's multiplayer component. Players who buy the Collector's Edition will also receive an in-game garage to store custom vehicles.

In single-player, these cars include the 1930s-style Hotknife hotrod and the CarbonRS sports bike. In multiplayer, players will get to zip around in the Khamelion electronic car.

Lastly, Rockstar announced today that anyone who preorders GTAV--any version of the game--will be able to pilot the atomic blimp in-game vehicle. Preorders for all premium bundles went live today and will be available while supplies last.

GTAV launches September 17 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Only a complete idiot would pay that much for what is clearly just a bunch of cheap crap and DLC content.

Or I'll just wait for the GOTY edition and get everything that way...

PC master who?

LMAO

Main reason why PC gaming is inferior.

You lose to play the best games in every generation.

for 150 I'd expect them to include the resident evil umbrella umbrella

Not too impress by the bonus package compared to the GTA4 package.  Why the F- would I care about a blimp? Unless Crashing it makes it shower explosive kittens to the masses below. OR maybe a legion of bigfoots could rain on the city, pummeling everything :D

Hope ther is a riot cheat again. That was highlight of GTA3 and San Andreas personally.

I'm a GTA fan but I refuse to spend that much ($150) on so little. Maybe I'll get the special edition for $79. Decisions...decisions..

As big as a GTA fan I am, I still can't believe R* wanna charge $150 for that bundle? The $79 collector's edition for the Last of Us has so much more and it goes for half the price.

Somehow in 1 minute my post managed to exceed the 5 minute editing period (why the hell is it such a short period anyway?) so forgive the double post:

Well this article convinced me to wait for a cheap PC release with all of the DLC. Well done, Rockstar. You've gone from one of my favourite developers to somebody I'll think of the same way I'll think of Blizzard or Dice.

Whoa, they've finally put the garage back in but only for the collector's edition? The hell? That kind of thing should be in the game for everybody. It's a basic mechanic!

So the garage, a feature that was in previous GTA games, is now a fucking pre-order collectors edition bonus?

I'll stick to the original $60 version. $150 is simply too much to pour into a video game, considering this collectors edition itself is mediocre.

$150 dollars for a garage and multiplayer characters? $80 for 25% regen boost and a blueprint? Have to pre-order to fly a blimp? I bought Skyrim several months after it came out for $40 and got this nice fancy textured paper map.

inb4 it will all be a dlc later and everyone who bought all the extra "swag" will be pissed.

One of the most important things I wanted in GTA V was garages to store cars.  Now I have to get the $150 edition to have that?  That was free in Vice City.

@DeViLzzz Don't worry, it'll eventually come out for PC and once it does it'll be worth the wait with all the mods and better graphics and such.

@93ChevyNut And San Andreas. Plus the Saints Row games seem fine with it. I've never heard of such a basic mechanic being locked out for everybody who pays full price for the game.

Next thing you know they'll lock a unique vehicle behind a paywall. Oh wait, that's right you'll have to preorder for the blimp too. Not just a different car or a different boat, but an entirely unique vehicle that is actually one of the very few NEW things for the series.

@XBOX ONE Insider Now THAT is a real developer.

@Alex Filipowski When they really don't have anything decent, yes.

@Michael Bonney Yeah really next gen coming out soon and we aren't 100% sure if they will be backwards compatible or not. The entire multiplayer might die out when next gen is released.
