A suprisingly good game despite the poor presentation

I started this game not knowing what to expect. What i had was a battle card strategy based on the popular card game of which i had never played before.

This presented a problem. Firstly i started the game not knowing a single rule and with there being not even a simple tutorial it was confused. However you soon pick up the basics and over time it all starts to make sense and you are soon beating opponents. The game is enjoyable, even during the difficult first few battles and i think the game will be one of those you come back for a few games when you are bored. A major benefit is the games variety of cards. There are simply hundred of well drawn and designed cards and you will want to collect as many of them as possible. A major problem is the lack of any kind of story, this makes the battles feel slighty meaningless. It would of been nice to at least have had some kind of story to set the scene and give you a reason to carry on battling.

Graphics wise the game fails miserably. The gameboard is very bare bones and fails to inspire. The cards do look good with excellent art work for each card, a bonus for fans of the card game. The menus are very average but that is ok as very little time is spent on them.

The games audio is also poor. A few sound effects and some average music, however at least the music does not distract you while playing the game.

Finally the games length is good. You will be coming back for the occasional game for months afterwards which means you will definetely get your moneys worth. The multiplayer will also last you an age which adds significantly adds to the value.

Overall, an enjoyable game that, if you look past the poor presentation, will keep you and you're friends entertained for a long time.
