Worms is a great game for the Xbox Live Arcade, but doesn't justify the cost they are asking.

Good: Fun classic worms game play; notable replay value; online is a blast to play; achievements are great.
.
Bad: Not enough content to justify purchase.

Worms is a re-creation of the classic side scrolling strategy game that originated on the Pc. In worms you play as small worms with some really neat weapons. You can use shotguns, rockets, grenades, a complete arsenal of weaponry at your disposal. Eat weapon handles differently and looks good. The environment is destructible which means you can blast your own little underground caves where you can hide, but the enemies can easily access you, its just a neat feature. The game may seem like a side scrolling shooter, but its extremely strategically based. You will need to plan out moves if you want to win, and you'll find if you have no strategy and just rush out, you will be quickly destroyed. Each weapon has a good and bad point and all possess key strategic purposes. For example, if an enemy worm is near water you can launch a rocket or throw a grenade to throw the worm off into the water for an instant kill. Strategy is definitely a key factor in Worms, so remember to think before you move.

The graphics are alright. They resemble the classic worms games, but it doesn't represent anything new, which isn't to be expected, but it would be a nice addition. The graphical effects for the weapons
look good, but it still has the cheesy art style of worms. For example when you attack the environment it will break apart and look like a bite from a cheese block. The worms themselves look good, as to be
expected, and overall the graphics live up to its name, but aren't anything special.
.
The sound for the game is not the strongest feature. The worms still have their cute high pitch voices, and the weapons all sound spot on. The only problem is that the soundtrack and music for the game is pretty weak. The sound effects may be alright, but that doesn't redeem the sound quality, which is overall fairly weak.

Worms is a great game that has a lot of replay value. The game has online with up to 4 players which is a blast to play. The achievements add a lot of replay value to the single player, which unfortunately is very weak. Its basically a death match against the computer with absolutely no plot or explanation to why your attacking worms. Its basically a instant action, more than a campaign. The price isn't completely justified in the purchase and this game is hard to recommend to anyone who isn't a Worms fan. If your looking for a fun party arcade game, then Worms is the perfect choice. The online is great for a bunch of friends to get together to play something while they talk, and you can always try the trial.
