At first look it's a nice game. It has better graphics than World of Warplanes and World of Tanks for the ground part.
After you play for a bit you'll realize the game has big problems with the basic mechanics of the game. In about half the games the collision mechanics don't work. You see your bullets hit the enemy plane, shells explode on the enemy and nothing happens. Damage Model and Fly Model for many planes and tanks are incorrect or broken.
War Thunder has a March Marker base on the weapons of the planes not their performance and they change the Battle Ratings basest on battle statistics. Good dog-fighters are always nerfed and usually less maneuverable but fast and well armed planes get buffed. There are cases where 1941 planes have higher rating than 1944 planes or Korea era jets have lower BR than ww2 jets.
The game is nice at tier 1 but when you progress a bit more you'll see the game is unfinished. At the highest tier the game is broken and unplayable. Not to mention very few player even try it and you wait 30 min to start a game
