It's time for Virtua Fighter 4! EVOLUTION!!!!!

User Rating: 9.5 | Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution PS2
There are a lot of really, really, really GOOD fighting games out there! There's the Street Fighter, Tekken, Mortal Kombat, Dead or Alive, King of Fighters, Samurai Showdown, etc. There is also the GENIUS fighting franchise from Sega, called Virtua Fighter.
Sega really liked the Virtua thingy, so that's why, today we have games like Virtua Tennis, Virtua Cop, or... Virtua Fighter! Virtua Fighter stood back in the day because it was one of the only 3D fighting games! But not only the graphics made it good, but the gameplay as well! From exciting cool combos to jaw-dropping throws, Virtua Fighter will always find a good place in our hearts!
But let's cut with the original and let's get to our game : Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution. Why does the name include the word "Evolution"? For several reasons. First of all, there was a Virtua Fighter 4 on the Playstation 2. After that, Virtua Fighter 4 : Evolution came along with two new characters, better graphics, and... well... EVOLUTION!!!!!
Is the game good? Well, if you checked the score I gave before, you'll see that this game is really good! But what's the main reason for that? Fun. This game has a lot of fun! The exciting combos and the jaw-dropping throws from the original are back, with new styles of martial arts.
In Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution, you have classic characters like Akira, Sarah, Kage, Wolf, Jacky, Lau, Aoi and so on, plus two new characters whose names are Brad and Hoth( or something like, because I really haven't used him and I really don't remember his name).
In most of today's games like Street Fighter 4 or Tekken 5, the game shows you directly what moves, does each of your character knows. But in Virtua Fighter 4:Evolution you don't have that. This doesn't make the game bad. It actually makes the game better. You can always star with a character and button mash to discover new exciting combos and jaw-dropping throws!
The graphics are marvelous and beautiful to look at. They're not revolutionary in PS2 standards, but they are good. As for the sound design, eh, well.. Let's say it's AWESOME!!!!
In Virtua Fighter 4 : Evolution you've got several game modes like: Arcade, Versus and Quest. You aleardy know what to expect from arcade and versus, but what does Quest offer? Well from the name you'd consider to be a Story Mode like in Tekken 5, but no! You just play yourself playing Virtua Fighter 4 in the arcades trying to defeat everybody and participate into tournaments. It's not bad at all, but let's just call it the only flaw...
In conclusion, Virtua Fighter 4 : Evolution is a must-play. Anybody can play it because it's not hard, and not easy as well. It's just right!!! That's all I've got to say! If you have a request for a review, just tell me, and I'll try my best
